Didn't they years ago warn people in the owners manual to be sure the FPSP did not drop out while being reassembled?

I bought a SS Mk2 Target a couple months ago that had the two-piece bolt. It is in my extra parts stash now. I replaced it with a Mk4 SS bolt. It is the second SS Mk2 I have bought that has had the two-piece bolt.

It goes into the squarish hole under the barrel where the frame lug goes into and you move the barrel back to seat it on the grip frame.

I have used an aluminum soda can shim in one of my older Mark pistols too. Works great. When I got it, someone had already "dimpled" the cutout in the barrel, but it wasn't working anymore. I was reluctant to use the squeeze the barrel method, so tried a shim, it worked.

Thanks for posting that pic of all the various bolt styles. I recently bought a Mk2 SS with the two-piece bolt and swapped in a one piece like you have pictured. Of course I would have been unaware if not for you posting about this two-piece bolt here and elsewhere.

To the OP, you have have excellent eyesight to hit the target a 75 feet. Are those targets designed to be used at that distance?

They might as they have in the past. The first 22/45s had a model in the lineup with a SS Barrel. I have one. It is the Heavy Taper Barrel style. I got it at a gun show in Lewiston Maine a couple years ago.

Glad you brought your pistol back into use again. I use SRWs tips on mag tuning too, including the polishing of the mag recoil spring guide. Some are really rough, others are polished already, maybe different batches from the mag maker? I dunno.

Good that they replaced the barrel. I did not see any alternative see any alternative except to keep on shooting it, and hope for the best. The extractor is designed to contact the area further inside the extractor slot to keep this from happening. Your extractor must have been different somehow.
