    Ruger AR 556

Like most things it would depend on what you intend to use the AR 556 for. IF someone were to offer me, FREE OF CHARGE, any AR of my choice, I probably would not choose a Ruger AR 556. However, everything considered, I love mine. It does what I bought to to do just fine. Sorta like my Chevy...

AR556 bolt not locking open after last round

. Bingo! In view of the fact that he stated the bolt locks back when using the charging handle, I think you nailed his problem! In turn, that could then be an indication of defective [weak] ammo or a leakage or a partial blockage in the gas system. Also, the buffer spring could be too stiff.

    AR-556 trigger

Pretty much my sentiments too. If my intended use was for long range target shooting I'd would want a lighter trigger. But my AR556 has a great trigger just as it came from the factory. If I wanted to light matches at 200 yards I'd have mounted a good high power scope. Instead I mounted a red...

Not unless additional modifications were made.

Pulled the trigger - so to speak.

It works. Zero malfunctions. Not the most powerful rifle I've ever shot but I knew that when I bought it. Not the most accurate rifle I've ever shot but I didn't expect it to be and isn't set up to be nor is it fed custom loaded ammo in order to be. It's relatively economical to shoot, fun to...

    The AR-556 Barrel

Precisely! The vast majority of AR556 owners would never shoot enough rounds to wear out the barrel of a Ruger AR556 in three lifetimes!!

    The Latest AR-556 Write Up

Yeah ... I read the article and thought it pretty much summed up my impression of my Ruger AR556. A good friend also had the same reaction to the article. Certainly not a "be all end all" gun but it covers a lot of bases quite adequately and at a price most folks can afford. I love mine!

    M77 .458 Win Mag question

Well, all I can tell you is my own experience. Anytime I've called Ruger Customer Service the person that picks up in the C.S. dept usually either has my answer off the top of their head, quickly looks it up for me, or immediately transfers me to a person who either knows the answer or can...
