I haven't used it in .45LC or .454 but I have in my S&W 460PC. I load 44 grains behind a 300gn XTP and 36 grains behind a 395gn LGC. Between the two loads I used up a pound of powder and other then a little flame cutting on the top strap I could not find any signs of throat erosion.
