Seeking Reload Data on using Win 296 in 223Rem

Good to know. Thanks. The reason the thread on reloading the 223 Rem with Win 296 powder caught my eye is because I have two pounds I will not use in my revolvers. Using it in the 223 would be good option.

Seeking Reload Data on using Win 296 in 223Rem

Thank you for the replies. I did find a small blurb about using Win 296 in 223 Rem. 24 Hour Campfire, Under Varmint Rifle comments about reloading Win 296. After reading the thead I thought it might be a good option for just plinking and not wasting my good powders. Currently I'm using IMR...

Seeking Reload Data on using Win 296 in 223Rem

Is there any data or evidence about using Winchester 296 powder for reloading the 223 Remington case, either in rifles or single shot pistols? I have been though my old and new reloading books, and researching on the internet. I have not found anything. Thank you in advance for your reply.

SR 1911 5". Do they come with a hard case?

Good morning all. My 2011 Ruger SR1911 Full Size model came with; a white card board box, black fabric zipper pistol case, Ruger lock, 7rd and 8rd stainless steel magazines, bushing wrench, and owner’s manual/pamphlets. I would assume it comes the same way now. Hope that helps. Good luck...

AR-556 suddenly wont eject casings today

Bolt/Ejector installed incorrectly. Ejector Claw is not facing outward. When the Bolt face was reinstalled, the Claw was accidentally facing toward the inside of the receiver.

    Crazy pricing on powder

For what ever reason the last week I have been looking at IMR powders on Scheels Sporting Goods website. Yesterday I see all IMR powders jumped in price from roughly $47 to $70 per pound. 8 pound jug went up $100. I was looking at getting 8lbs of IMR 4350, now I’m going to delay doing that.

    Ruger Red Label 20ga Repair

I would remove the Butt Stock. I you are hesitant to do that yourself, I would find a friend that could (with the right tools of course). With the Butt Stock off you can see what’s going on with the Action. It maybe an easy fix, like just maybe needs a good cleaning and lubricating. The Best...

    Ruger No 3 45/70 pickup

Well since we're now talking reloads here's my go to reload. 45-70Govt.: 300gr .459dia lead flat point Oregon Trail/IMR4198 35.8grs (1700fps?) Hodgdon 2015 Annual Manual P. 141. Very nice shooting, I think very powerful too. Impressive performance on our decommissioned steel fuel barrel...

    New Python 2.5 vs 3”

Neither one, too short. When out doing chores or hunting I like Revolvers with barrels 5” to 6” in length. Smidge more velocity, longer sight plain, better balance and handier.

    Winchester model 67

As I understand it, the Winchester 67 1934 with the Large Thumb Screw is considered the “Take Down Model”. I too have the 1st year 1934 Model. Mine was definitely a Farm Rifle. It is in rough shape. Now that I am the caretaker of it, I treat it as if it is the last one on Earth. One thing...

Stainless Blackhawk .41 Magnums...where are they?

I had no idea there was a Stainless Steel Blackhawk in 41 Rem. Mag. Thank you for bringing this up, I will have to keep an eye out for the 5-1/2” barrel.
