    Why BBQ gun ?

From one okie to another, let me say that that's one beautiful shootin' iron you've got there. Shoot her much? Or do you just like to make other fellas salivate? Some closeups and the story behind her would be especially nice.

    sercurity six?

Huh, that's interesting. I'll probably order some soon. Speaking of ordering parts, you wouldn't know how hard it is to change a rear sight to the white outline model, would you? I ask b/c I say a gunsmith do it to a S&W and they made it look awful complicated. Would love it if the Ruger's...

    Boston PD .38 Speed Six......

T.A. Workman and Ben Cartwright you two should know that the department markings on your revolvers are the best I've ever seen. Around here, the department usually scratches their department initials and a number as crudely as possible. One of the gun auction sites has a stainless service six...

    sercurity six?

Thanks, I need a set and will probably order in a day or two. Found a set that looks like they might be original factory 150 series wood, but I'm not too sure I want to risk it, especially since I can get a sure bet for much less. Those are laminated aren't they?

    Greetings

I did that, the sight (stainless with a orange insert) and a blued pin is less than $15. However, I have no clue what a gunsmith would run. Seriously, I had a guy quote me at over a hundred bucks for one a few years ago. I guess I could call around. We'll see.

Hey RoninPA, are those Jay Scott # 62s on that second gun? If so, how do you like them? How do they compare to the factory grips in thickness and feel? Oh heck, tell me everything you can about them, please.

Security Six: milled from a solid piece of stainless steel!

Just for comparison. As a kid, I read that a 1911A1 could be fired around 70K rounds before being in need of a rebuild. And that one could rebuild a frame at least twice, under normal use, and sometimes even a third time. Supposedly, they ("they" being the gun writers of the late 70s and...

    sercurity 6 or speed six?

Ha, newbie here. I read this thread when I was lurking here, and it inspired me to go out and buy a couple of Ruger six series 357s. Been awhile since I had one, much less two. These are going to be fun, I can feel it in my soul. Now, if I could just do something about these horrible Herrett...

Awesome work, RoninPA! Did you do the jeweling yourself, or have it sent out to do. If you did it yourself, do you mind if I ask how you did it?

Thanks, I appreciate it. Hey, you wouldn't know what a new front sight should cost, would you? Thanks again.

    Greetings

Greetings all Ruger revolver fans, and other Ruger fans as well. I currently own 4 Ruger firearms and have owned two others in the past also. Currently, I own a 10/22, a MKII, which was unfired until a few months ago, and two Security series 357s, which is what I came here to discuss. But...
