    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

Good for you, Mah Brothah! (y) I DO remember that ad from the '80s, as I'd only quit drinking myself for a couple years at that time. (A couple weeks ago I had 39 1/2 years--this September I'll have 40, God Willing and the creek don't rise!) ;)

    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

I used to have friends who would RAVE to me about Ruger's factory repair/customer service. I'd say, "I have S&Ws. I have no idea what their customer service is like, because I've never had to return one." ;)

What Are .22LRs Selling For These Days?

That's pretty amazing, if legit. Thanks for the link.

Really? Can you post a link to that, please?

What Are .22LRs Selling For These Days?

Interesting, but doesn't answer the thread question. What did you PAY for the 20K rounds?

    OM .30 Carbine- Custom Ideas

If I understand his story correctly, it WAS sold, and he bought it back for the provenance/heritage/history/heirloom factor. Handloading is a very viable option, as would be adding a second custom cylinder in .327, .32 Mag, .32-20, or whatever. ;)

    OM .30 Carbine- Custom Ideas

Yah, reloading for it will do a lot to lower the blast issue. Most M1 carbine ammo is built to develop @ 40,000 psi in an 18" barrel. Set it off in a 6.5" barrel and it's gonna be loud. It's just physics. I think I've heard of custom .32-20 cylinders being made for these. If you want a...

    What are some people thinking?

I have come to the conclusion, after many years of observation, that there is no modification that can be made to a gun or a car, no matter how stupid or insane-looking, that somebody, somewhere, didn't think was a good idea and/or would "look cool" and actually did it.

    Bring the pain!

In 1989 I was gonna take Mas Ayoob's LFI-II, which involved shooting a lot of slugs and buckshot. I bolted a set of aftermarket rifle sights on my Mossberg 500 Turkey Gun (20" VR Barrel) and set about sighting in the slugs from my club's bench. Every shot loosened the screw-on sights, and I...

Manual safety on semi auto's or not?

Well, the DA revolver (and all true DA semiautos I know of) has a much longer, heavier trigger pull than any GLOCK.

Manual safety on semi auto's or not?

If the kid pulls the trigger, it WILL fire. You know that. Months if not weeks after DC Metro police adopted the GLOCK, an officer's toddler daughter shot herself to death with her father's duty weapon. I can't think of any other kind of handgun where she could have done that. Calling the...

Manual safety on semi auto's or not?

Okay then, if instead of shooting himself, he'd merely DROPPED the stupid thing and it had been grabbed off the floor by a fast-thinking kid. Explain to us how the various GLOCK "safeties" would have kept the kid from immediately shooting it at the instructor, the teacher, his/her fellow...

Manual safety on semi auto's or not?

I don't like the idea of a gun that anyone can pick it up and kill you with it, with no training whatsoever.

    Wtb a Hunter holster

Cal, have you considered the Uncle Mike's Sidekick line of nylon holsters? I have experience with quite a few of these. They're VERY well made, very durable, and VERY reasonably priced. Rating: Snakeworthy! ;) (y) https://www.unclemikes.com/holsters-2/
