who has houge rubber grip on a blackhawk? ya i know..

I have them on a 45 colt Blackhawk and like them because they keep the trigger guard from hitting my finger.

    Revolvers, Semi-Autos, and People

We all are guilty of wanting something better. However after spending lots of money on different shotguns, I find that an 870 fits me and works as good as the more expensive ones I had, also Rugers, colts and S&W handle any handgun shooting as well as the H&K or Sigs I tried. Get what you like...

Some guys must be made of Jell-O literally and figuratively

Have shot a lot of hard kicking handguns in my day and still do if needed but not for fun any more. Magnum revolvers and Contenders in rifle caliber have taken there tool and now have hands and wrists with arthritis. Like them cowboy loads and 22s these days. At 46 I was still young and dumb, at...

    Advice Super Blackhawk 44 Mag

Good price, recoil depends on what loads you shoot. Most of my magnum handguns shoot light reloads as I do not hunt and only carry full loads when in the woods. You can also buy 44 specials that will have less recoil. My blackhawks wear over-sized rubber grips that make them easier to shoot.

    Choices..............

Good post, I just like most handguns.

    One less stainless Flattop Convertible...

This problem of customer doing quality control seems to be the same with a lot of the firearms manufactures lately. Check the other forums and you will see similar post about Colt, Sig, and others.

    .45 Colt versus .44mag

As already stated if you don't hand load the 44 is the best way to go. For me the 45 Colt will do every thing I need a hand gun to do. I cast and use the same bullet for the ACP and 45 Colt for plinking and use hard cast bullets for woods carry, no longer own a 44 mag. :D

    Eight Shot Ruger LCR .22

Looks good to me wife has a LCR 38 but does not like recoil or muzzle blast. I load light 38s now but she would be happier with a 22. A 22 is not the best choice but better than a gun she won't shoot or carry.

    SR9 or keep the Glock

I like both but only have a SR9c now. The SR9 is easier for me to shoot. I even traded my G17 for a LCR. How well the SR9 will stand the test of time is not proven yet but I don't expect to wear mine out.

    Looking for GP100 info

The DAO was used by some law enforcement agencies, the idea was to keep police from holding a person at gun point with a cocked revolver. With practice one can learn to shoot DAO quite well. A lot of the small revolvers are DAO with an enclosed hammer (LCR, S&W 640, body guard)or a bobbed...

    GP 100 cylinder carry up

Thank your sir, you are only trying to help and I am great full. It is often hard to see what some else trying to explain. If a new pawl does not give it enough additional rotation I will send it to Ruger. Again I do not mean to be disrespectful.

    GP 100 cylinder carry up

Sorry to have to have caused hard feelings. I only ask if any one made over sized hands?pawls for a GP 100, guess the answer is NO. I have great respect for flatgates knowledge of Ruger single actions. While my GP 100 functions, it does not go to full luck up on two chambers when cocked slowly...

Variations in GP100 timing and carry up?

I also have a GP 100 that has late carry up, on slow SA cocking it stops short of lock up on two chambers but works OK at normal cocking spreads. It was made in 2007 and shows little signs of use (traded into it). The other Ruger DAs that I have owned were all very positive about lock up. Does...

    GP 100 cylinder carry up

The pawl is not too short. The GP 100 does not have a pawl like the Ruger single actions. The pawl is like the hand on a S&W or Dan Wesson or even the later Colts, it locks up when it passes the ratchet. To make it lock up it either needs to be wider or the teeth on the ratchet need to be just a...

    GP 100 cylinder carry up

The pawl on the GP 100 is like on the S&W K or L frames it does not have two steps like a single action. Final lock up is made when the pawl slides by the ratchet. If you cock the gun either with the trigger or by pulling back the hammer, with normal force the cylinder momentum will bring the...
