What's the highest ripoff price you've seen for 22 ammo?

None of the LGS's up here that I've talked to up here will back order ammo for customers. Some of them say, "That they have no idea when ammo will become more available" and others have said, "They just don't". But all of them would order a back ordered firearm but not back ordered ammo.

CMP says that the ammo is "AS IS". Have you had any problems from the ammo being too old or wet? How many duds if any have you experienced? Even if there are some duds, it's still a good deal. Yeah, I'll probably order another case within a few months of getting my first case. My kids and Scouts...

Cool info thanks! I'm a member of two affiliated clubs. $40.00 more and a wait time of 6-12 months. But would rather pay $40.00 more than wait in line and spend in gas to buy the same amount that would take almost a few months to accumulate anyway.

I've dreamed a lot lately. Shipping ammo up here to Alaska costs more in shipping charges than the ammo itself no matter what caliber. So the only way to get ammo up here is to buy at the LGS. The only big box store in Anchorage is Sportsmans Warehouse until Bass Pro and Cabelas open up next...

    Winchester M-22 cartridges

I had 1000 rounds of the Winchester M-22 .22lr Ammo and now am down to one box of 500. I use it in my Ruger MKlll 22/45 Target Model. Out of the whole box I maybe had 3 failure to fires. Works in my pistol almost as good as CCI Copper Round Nose Ammo. I'd buy more but that's just my opinion.

I've ordered all extra parts for my 22/45 bolt for just in case instances from Ruger. They are back ordered right now and I've been waiting for over a month now with no known shipping date. With shipping, around $28.00 for all the extra parts. It's very worth it.

Looking for a decent red dot for 22/45

Burris Fastfire lll on my 22/45 with Burris Mounting Plate so it sits lower than the supplied scope rail. A little spendy but well worth it.

35 to 45 boxes of bulk 22 at WalMart over 3 consecutive days

I think he's talking what Walmart got in each day and not what he was able to buy each day. At least I hope not.

I totally understand that people want to be prepared and have ammo on hand just in case SHTF and for training and plinking. But you have people out there that are just trying to make a buck when they don't even own a .22lr! They take advantage of people! yes, It is ultimately the persons choice...

35 to 45 boxes of bulk 22 at WalMart over 3 consecutive days

Glad to see .22lr ammo is slowly showing up in some of the lower 48 States. Seems like everything shows up last up here in Alaska. I see very little if any of .22lr ammo showing up at any of the smaller guns shops and maybe 2-3 times a month at the Sportsmans Warehouse in Anchorage.

    Something new to "gadget up".

I have the Burris Fastfire 3 with Burris Mount on my Ruger MKlll 22/45.

    Ruger SR22 and ammo

My SR22 would pretty much eat anything I put through it. Although it liked the CCI Minimags the best and Federal a close second. The Blasers it would shoot pretty good until the lead fouling built up. All in all, it's a good pistol.

What's the highest ripoff price you've seen for 22 ammo?

I live up in Alaska so everything is pretty expensive up here especially to ship ammo. Shipping is almost as the cost of the ammo. As far as .22lr ammo, at my local Sportsmans Warehouse, when they do get .22lr in, a bulk box of Golden Bullets will sell for $26.00 and a box of 100 CCI Mini Mags...
