    Is reloading worth it ????

Pumpdaddy - here's a view from someone who has only been reloading a couple of years. I started out loading .45Colt because I wanted to deer hunt with my Blackhawk and had a hard time finding anything other than cowboy loads at the time, or at less than a couple of bucks a round. I have been...

    .45 Schofield loading advice

Thanks wil - got the shellholders and I think everything I need (including a couple manuals) - so the 45 Colt dies will work ok? Would .45ACP dies work better (I may be adding that caliber down the road)? Any experience on what Unique levels have worked good for others?

    .45 Schofield loading advice

Didn't want to hijack another thread, so I'll start a new one. I have some 45 Schofield brass and want some opinions on what's different than the 45Colt reloading; I only have the Colt dies (including Lee FCD), and only have 255gr LSWC bullets, and only have Unique powder on hand. Any advice...

    Feed Ramp and Hollow Points

Nerd_ - keep us updated on your progress; that's interesting to me. I wonder if the hollow point rounds caused that or if it was like that before. Either way, it sure looks to me like it needed the polishing!

What do you use your Single Six .22 mag for?

.22mag is the only thing I've carried in my single six over the last couple of years - have spent a lot of time in the woods shootin' rabbits, squirrels, possums, racoons, etc. I can't really explain why other than at the range mine seems to be more accurate with the magnum, so that's what I...

How much leading is considered normal?

that's about what I get with the same bullet over 8.5-9.5gr Unique; I started out with some of MBC's 18BHN and got a lot more leading - switched to the 12BHN (I think - maybe 13?) and it helped a lot.

    SOLD-SOLD-SOLD

Can you comment on how it would fit a guy who wears a 32-33" jeans waist? It looks like there's a little room to add a hole or two? Also, do you know if their Vaquero and Blackhawk holsters are the same size? I'm interested if my BH will fit and my belly isn't too big.

    SR9 slide lock/release

If you're doing it right and it doesn't slingshot, then there's something wrong with the release. With the slide locked back, don't touch the button - just pull the slide back enough to disengage (the button should drop down) and LET GO. If that doesn't work, then the button is catching and...

    Ruger LC380

My speculation? LCP recoil is pretty stout for the new shooter (eg. my wife!) and the LC9 platform gives just enough more grip length to be more attractive to that market. I know my LCP is less comfortable to shoot than the LC9 - I've shot both.

    SR9 slide lock/release

Welcome to the forum Max8700! - do a search on this forum and you'll find a lot of threads related to the "slide-lock" on the SR9. May give you more opinions and info if you're interested.

    45 Colt load question?

I'm using 8 to 8.5 grains of Unique with 255gr LSWC in my Blackhawk (also a 4 5/8") for plinking loads; don't have a chrony but they feel about the same as the Winchester "Cowboy Load". I use the same bullets with 9.5grains Unique for hunting.

    Ruger SR9 Peening Problem

Looks just like mine after a couple thousand rounds - I started seeing it withing the first hundred or so and hasn't progressed since then. I have used a small stone and some emory paper to smooth the rough edges in the past, but I've come to accept it, as it doesn't affect my guns reliability...

    SR9 Barrel Question

Pretty sure that looks real similar to mine - after a couple thousand rounds. I don't remember if it looked like that new, but it doesn't seem to affect reliability or accuracy, so I'm not going to fret it until/unless it seems to be a problem. I'm interested if you find anything out about it.

thinking of selling my p95, and trying an SR9

Love my SR9; striker fired, plastic, glock knock-off, mag disconnect - I've heard it all, but it's become a good 'ol standby for me; easy to carry, fun at the range, shoots all types of ammo, accurate, easy to disassemble, good to teach beginners (it was my first semi-auto), etc. I'd like to...
