Giving a NM Black hawk some love = awesome trigger

I had thought about going up on the trigger spring , It has a 30oz in it now and I have a 40oz to put in . I actually Installed a 24 pound extra power hammer spring thinking the occasional light strike may have been that so it’s not stock weight . I’m not 100% sure the pull weight is correct...

Giving a NM Black hawk some love = awesome trigger

So I bought this 357 mag used some years ago and I hunted with it and killed a few deer for a bit. I moved up to my SRH 44 so I passed this down to my son . About 5-6 years ago I did a complete dis-assemble of the revolver and it was pretty nasty . At this time I polished the trigger hammer...

    180gr 357

I was using a 180 grain rim rock hard cast gas check for hunting, it’s the same bullet that buffalo bore uses in their heavy hunting loads . So with 13 grains of 2400 with a heavy crimp I was getting mid 1300’s over the chronograph. I was close enough to their 1400’ FPS to be happy with it...

    hogue grip finger groves

Hogue sells a rubber non finger groove grip, I bought one for my SRH because my big fat fingers did not fit in the finger grooved one. Didn’t like that one either and bought a non finger groove wood grip from hogue. It had a way larger palm swell that fits my hand great.

    Disassembling GP-100 problem

I bought a used Blackhawk, and decided to disassemble for a deep clean and was shocked how much crud was in there. After cleaning it actually smoothed out the gun.

    2400

I moved mine into my sons old bedroom, not because of the heat in NY , but the winters when there is nothing to do, I can reload till my hearts content . And my 44 and 357’s get a steady diet of 2400..

    Any Reviews on the LC380?

My wife has several hundred rounds through hers and she likes it a lot. Only malfunctions we had was with reloads of unique, she had a bunch of failure to feed , eject , stove pipes etc. Switched to power pistol and the gun has run flawless. Funny thing is the unique loads were close to max and...

Trigger spring tune or Wolff spring?

I also did the removing one leg thing, but it always bothered me knowing that leg was right up against the coil. For less than $15 it was worth getting the wolf 2pack trigger springs.

    What are your favorite LCR's??

38+p for the wife and myself, always pocket carry and we shoot nothing but 158 grainers for practice and we use the old FBI load for carry. When we practice I like using 12 inch plates at 12 yards and we double tap often.
