Since Jason from Lipsey's probably reads these threads, I'll use this to put in a request for a No. 1S, 24" barrel, in .35 Whelen. Maybe even a 24" No. 1S in 7x57. Also the fixed shallow V and white bead front sight setup would be perfect on the open sight No. 1 models.

Lipsey's limited Ruger No. 1S in .30/06 which will be out later this year. Stick on something like a 1.5-5x or 1-6x scope in QD rings and replace the sights with the shallow v/white bead sights Ruger puts on the .30/06 version of the Guide Gun.

I can screw up something with an ordinary hand file at least as well as anybody can with a Dremel, but doing it with the regular file does require a little more patience.

Does the single leaf fixed express sight on the 77 Hawkeye African and Guide Gun fit a standard 3/8" dovetail slot as used on the Ruger No. 1's? If not does anyone know what size dovetail it fits? Thank you
