The F8 is one of mine...... It doesn't get the fanfare..... There is a really great documentary on youtube...
I can't attach a pic because windows only downloads as .jfif files......
I bought an after-market rifled barrel for my 870 years ago.... It is 21" long and shoots slugs quite well at reasonable ranges. It was much cheaper than an actual Remington barrel, and except for the crappy ghost ring sights I added to it, the barrel is great, and I'd definitely use it for big...
I'm looking to acquire a magazine for a winchester model 77 .22 rifle. The rifle is being restored to be given to the owners son, as his first rifle. Will to buy or trade...
Thanks....
One of the first things I did after I got out of the army, was to buy a SBH, and send it off to magnaport... I had it ported, a trigger job, and the "see-more"?? sight blades installed.....
Excellent shooting revolver....
I wanted to use it for whitetail, after Minnesota made handgun hunting...
Do base pin latch assemblies count as pins springs and screws??
I seem to be short one........ (lock tite is your friend).....
reuben....
Interesting... even in the deep blue state of Minnesota we could carry a "dispatch gun".... Here in Alaska.. taking a handgun or rifle with while bow hunting is highly recommended!!!!.....
I think if I had ever made a really bad shot. I'd keep it to myself!!!.......
In my area, getting a good shot at a low slung animal, like a bear is tough. I doubt I'd try it with a bow. I haven't killed as many bear as some of you. But I am a big believer in breaking the front...
Don't discount SA shooting.... Even one handed. You'd be surprised how fast you can cock, fire, and re acquire in a bad situation. Even yes.... with one hand using heavy cast bullets.
You won't get a great target area to choose because it will be mostly head, and it will be coming straight at...
and when they are coming at you.... the head is about all you can see!...... Moose too!!.......
But I can stop a bear charge in one shot!! I just put the gun to my temple!.....
That is a beautiful gun by the way..... Far beyond my means!!....
This one... Just because when I do have a handgun with me at the homestead it is this one. Not because of any special history or attachment. My other handguns are mostly in storage.....
I have a documentary on Mauser on my laptop. I just watched it last week..... This rifle was obviously featured!
When I was a kid, I had an 1888 commission mauser... But that was as close as I got until I got my Czech VZ24.....
None of the newer revolvers really interest me.. They all look.... funny.
These older designs are just beautiful.. And the 5" barrel is perfect... it looks so much more balanced and graceful than the 4" or 6"......
