You can't go wrong with either, heck of a gun either way.

You can cut a front dovetail sight into the frame if you know how and there are plenty of sights out there to choose from. Also the crown can be cut like you say installed and people are very satisfied with the results. Also I do realize special tools are needed to remove an Alaskan barrel...

I know if you can find one at a good price and don't like the looks it's awfully easy to make an Alaskan out of it. (y)

I traded a 1911 for a 454 super many years ago just to cut the barrel and make my own Alaska. After cutting down the barrel and hand cutting a front sight for it I ended up selling it to a friend who had to have it. Now after all these years I wish I had it back.

You're absolutely right the Kel-Tec P11 extractor is almost identical.

The service is top notch. My gun was 1 month old and I merely asked about a replacement extractor and asked if I could replace it myself and the Girl said she would send one out. When i received the new slide and barrel I was pleasantly surprised.

On my NAA 1 1/8 barrel i Noticed quite a bit of keyholing with 40 grain ammo. The stingers not quite so much. I like the heavier grain stuff if I can get it. Same pretty much with my 9mm, 380 derringer. I pretty much stick to the 380 derringer barrel because the 9mm is just to painful to shoot...
