    Super Redhawk 454 sticky extraction

I've got a 2002ish 454 super redhawk. In the past, I've rarely shot more than 1 or 2 shots (with it) at the range, due to recoil. I recently installed a Leopold Scope, and the recoil has been reduced considerably. Now I will usually shoot 3 or 4 cylinder's full when I go shooting. This...

    357 handloads with bullseye

Just chatting (say's me who needs his hand held).....to the person who must not have gotten any last night (everyone else can chuckle but you are not allowed to since you're not in a good mood....I thought it was a rule you have to be in a good mood to be on a chatboard!). Yes, my pullers have...

    357 handloads with bullseye

Pulled some of them, they are EXACTLY 7.1 of bullseye..he must have been meticulous...no variance at all. Then I broke the cap on the inertal bullet puller so had to stop and find my collet puller stuff. I pulled a few with the collet but it seemed like I was failing (and even pushing them in...

Front sight for a Security Six????

That would be so cool! 20 years ago I would have never thought I would appreciate something brighter than black.

    357 handloads with bullseye

My experience with an inertial bullet puller is that heavier bullets pull easy and lighter ones don't. I don't recall pulling 357 bullets before. Just 44 mag.. I have a collet puller but I doubt I have a collet for the 357.

Strength of GP100 vs. Security Six

Other than federal match 40 grain, I don't have any 22 ammo that's even considered match. Was there another type? I haven't bought much 22 ammo in the last ten years. Don't even know what's out there. I just know the Fed. Match 40 grain seems to feed best in most of what I have.

Front sight for a Security Six????

One of my Security Sixes DOES NOT have the red spot in the front sight. (The rest do). Now that I'm older I am very appreciative of that red (orange ?).. But it looks like numrich and everybody else is out with no backorder. Is there one I can buy and modify it to fit?? I have diamond grinders...

    357 handloads with bullseye

I didn't think of looking in my Lyman stuff. I'm sure it's in there but I've pretty much decided to trade somebody for other components. I do not shoot 125 gr. anyway, Mostly just max loads of 158 gr. gas checks and 2400,..110 once in a while.. and AA#7 once in a longer while.

    357 handloads with bullseye

I was just given some handloads with 7.1gr. bullseye, 125 grain gold dot hollow points,.. In winchester nickel cases. THis is not a load I would ever load myself. Don't believe in fast powders in a magnum gun. I'm trying to find out if that's a medium pressure load, or low? or high? or what...

Strength of GP100 vs. Security Six

Most chronographs read differently to some extent, but are very good at doing comparisons if you use the same chrony on the same day. Mine's just your every day run of the mill red shooting chrony with the digital readout and loooong cable to be able to have a readout where you are shooting...

Strength of GP100 vs. Security Six

The original loadings for the original 357 magnum are public knowledge and I certainly don't want to get in the middle of it. Google is your friend. The original powder was 2400, and you can find that load easy. In my experience (verified by chronograph) I do not get quite the velocity out of...

Strength of GP100 vs. Security Six

I had occasion to do a lot of searching and reading about these two revolvers. It seems the consensus is that the GP100 will take heavier loads, etc., etc., I own two GP100s and 3 security sixes. I got out my calipers and I am seeing NO DIFFERENCE in the thickness of the cylinder walls (by the...

Grips on 3 screw super blackhawk.

I ordered a Pachmary decelerator. Hope it fits. I wonder why mine has a fluted cylinder. I think I like the non fluted a little bit more. But no big deal. I do wish there was such a thing as a reversible transfer bar mod. Transfer bars are a good idea.

Grips on 3 screw super blackhawk.

I think it's got the 80 first and zeros after that and then 4 numbers, but it's buried in the safe right now. So,...I can put new model super redhawk pachmayr's on my old model super redhawk? Mine has a square trigger guard,. (but I think they all do..don't they?).????? I was going to try a...

Grips on 3 screw super blackhawk.

That's what I hear. My newer ones are not fluted. My son told me from the serial number it was probably made mid 1969, when they were still on 4 digits but starting out with 3 or 4 zeros..I think.
