    Scammer alert zipweight8534 (702) 209-0014

That's a shame. I was preparing a WTB ad. "Want to buy. Pristine 60s era Colt Python w/3 inch barrel and full coverage grips. Will give you 5 crisp 100 dollar bills in a face to face meeting."

Real world reliability of the AR-556?

OP here. The point of the thread (back in 2018) was to inquire among Ruger faithful re the real world quality of Ruger's "budget" AR. But the thread was resurrected, and broadened into a general summary of the AR platform. And, in part based upon the latest posts, since I don't do mag...

Real world reliability of the AR-556?

I see the thread has been resurrected so, here's an update. First, the title of the thread referenced the Ruger AR-556. I only put AR-556 because, this being a Ruger forum, I assumed everybody would know I was asking about the Ruger direct impingement AR (since, that's how Ruger markets it)...

Working up a load for 44 mag.

This is for Ruger Redhawk and a Ruger 3 screw Super Blackhawk. The bullet: Berry's 220 grain standard plated flat point; max velocity (according the Berry's) = 1250 fps. Berry's website specifies to use cast bullet data for load data. I'm using 2400 powder. I cannot find 220 grain cast...

.452 plated hollow base bullets ok for 45 Colt?

The bullets are Berry's plated. I'm using Vihtavuori N330 powder, 10.4 grains, 1093 fps. This is the recommended starting load on the above web site. The web site does not differentiate between hollow base and standard, but since it is a starting load, it should be ok? The gun is a modern...

    Redhawk snubby round butt

With a chest rig like that, a four inch barrel would be more practical. I never saw much use for a massive framed revolver behind a snub nosed barrel. But that's just me.

Can You Handle The .44 Magnum?

That said, nobody could hyperbole like skeeter.

Recommend moon clips Redhawk 45 ACP?

I'm reading the reviews for Ruger brand full moon clips and they aren't very good. The reviews are bad and so are the clips. Who do you recommend?

School me on the Birdshead Vaquero

That's just the Vaquero line? Is it just the Birds Head Vaquero? Or are all Vaqueros similarly limited? Also, would the New Model Blackhawks be similarly limited on pressures for the 45 Colt?

School me on the Birdshead Vaquero

Anybody got one? I'm looking at the 45 Colt caliber. I reload, so I can tailor the loads to comfort levels. I'd rather go hotter than milder, though. It looks like an uncomfortable gun to shoot. Is it? I saw on another thread a discussion about internal locks. Are they on all new Ruger...

Full moon clips for Ruger Redhawk 45 Colt/45 ACP

I own a S&W M25-2 and am wondering if the full moon clips will work in a Redhawk 45. thnx

    An issue with my Redhawk

Yeah, I figure that's what's going on. I also figure there must be some high spots on the breech face. That's a job for a smith. Recoil from hot loads reseats the primers to their proper depth.

    An issue with my Redhawk

I loaded it with reloads and the loaded rounds fell easily into the chambers. Pulled the hammer back slightly and the cylinder spins easily. But after a few rounds fired, it will lock up. I then unload it, and narrow it down to a half dozen rounds that won't allow the cylinder to rotate...

    An issue with my Redhawk

I bought a used 44 mag Redhawk. It's the 4th I've owned. The issue is that with reloads, the cylinder binds up in rotation after it heats up. It doesn't do it with factory ammo. Just reloads. I initially used pre fired brass and after I discovered the issue, was careful to make sure I...
