Man, I hope I didnt poop in my nest....

I gave my SR1911 a new Daddy today. It isn't even gone yet and I sort of miss it already. Time will tell if this was a huge mistake. Arthritis and getting old just suck! Thanks for all the advise and help in making this decision guys. If it turns out to be wrong, I can always get another one right?

Arthritis is getting the best of me. Thinking about selling

my SR1911. My insur. co. took away my Celebrex and the pain is such that I can't hardly rack the slide on it anymore. It only has 35 rounds through it and looks like new. Can you boys help me in figuring what I should ask for it? Thanks guys....

    Ruger American

This new Ruger rifle seems like the perfect platform for a .260 Rem. cal. I'd be on that ugly on Obongo!

    Ruger American heavy barrel?

Heck didn't I read that it has a barrel nut like a Savage? Buy an after market bbl and have a good smith thread it to fit. I have changed bbl's on Savage rifles myself and believe me, if I can do it without trouble, ANYONE CAR!. Head space the new bbl on a cartridge case from YOUR resizing die...

I like my Ruger okay. But I'd sure like to have some of the features on that Smith & Wesson. That my friends is one Fine Looking Firearm!

    Looking for equipment trade!

I'm getting a little long in the tooth and suffer Arthritis pretty bad in my hands and the new ones are just freaking tough for me to use. Tunnels, Elevators, etc. Just STUPID yugo to make the lawyers happy. Guys that have NEVER loaded a round in their sorry lives. And I guess also that as I...

    Looking for equipment trade!

I've used the old style Lee Auto Prime with the round primer tray for what seems like a 100 years. Mine are indeed getting old and nothing lasts forever. I bought a pair (2) of the new ones with the square primer trays and don't care for them at all. These sell for $29 at Midway USA. Anyone have...

    Need some help guys!

The Arthritis in my hands is getting worse. I have a Springfield Armory Stainless Loaded and love it. It has the cocking serrations on forward end of the slide and these help me greatly in cocking the gun. I bought a new Ruger SR1911 that DOES NOT have the forward serrations and it is much more...

FINALLY! I got to make it to the range with the new SR1911..

Packer, one of the things that bother me most in my shooting now is trying to see through one of my scopes with my right eye. I have good glass, Leupold, Sightron, Weaver and looking through them looks like someone stuck a big fish scale in the middle of my rear lens of the scope. Sucks trying...

FINALLY! I got to make it to the range with the new SR1911..

I think I might have made an error in the order of the ammo that I tried. My handloads are pretty light. Some of the early rounds didn't fully return the slide to battery. But all it took was a push with the thumb to complete the cycle and all was okay for a while. Maybe had a dozen or so of...

s&w 1911 WHAT ARE THEY WORTH?

S&W makes several different models of 1911's and all are priced different as well. Hard to know what to say without more information.

    Hey Revhigh and guys.....

I don't blame you one little bit James. I'd do the same if it were me. Let us know when you get your new replacement and how it looks, okay? Good luck sir.

    Hey Revhigh and guys.....

James, are you gonna do anything with yours in the way of a repair or switching out? Send it back to Ruger? If I remember the pics, it is in such a place as to not be a real issue. Just wondering. Was yours loaded up with grease from the factory? When I cleaned this thing up today I had almost...

    Hey Revhigh and guys.....

Snowy, nasty old day today. Couldn't get out and do anything so it was a good day to strip, clean, re lube, and reassemble the SR1911 and get it ready for a range trip when the weather improves. I shot a few pics of the feed ramp area for you guys and didn't see any of the voids that were shown...
