I've reading on another form that this mechanism wears out and wears out very quickly causing the Mini to slam-fire or even out-of-battery fire. Does this safety device wear out and if so how many rounds would it take before I have to send my Mini back to Ruger to get this repaired?

It's tough to convince those that think because the Mini is based on a Garand/M14 type action it still suffers from the same issues. I just ran a little test for myself.
