Well, you boys convinced me. It looks like sending this beautiful old revolver back to Ruger to be DESECRATED would border on the criminal. I'm gonna leave it be. Thanks for settin' me straight.........
Thanks for the input guys. I LIKE the load one, skip one, load four scenario. Just out of curiosity, what would the estimated value of a 3 Screw with the serial # 50-00038x be ? I may decide to sell it to a collector and purchase a new one for field use. It is in AT LEAST 95% condition, and...
I purchased a used Blackhawk, and would like to have it upgraded to the Transfer Bar system for safety reasons. It will be exposed to extreme trail use. Does Ruger perform this upgrade free of charge ? Also, do they pay the shipping both ways ?
Thanks for all of the responses. I think I'll take the weapon to a competent local smith and have him ream the chambers. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how large I can go ? ? I don't want a NM cylinder or altered lockwork, so Ruger Customer Service is out of the question..........
I can't extract spent cases. Had the chambers polished--same problem. Gun is squeaky clean. Bought it used to shoot up some MilSurp ammo. Have tried many brands of ammo--no luck. Maybe I should simply purchase a new cylinder from Ruger ? ? I was hoping to have the problem remedied under...
I have to send my Black Hawk in for service. The Ruger Rep. said that they would want to convert it to the transfer bar system, in addition to whatever other work it required. SHOULD I ALLOW THEM TO CONVERT MY GUN ? ? What are the pros & cons ? ?
Hey Tomiswho-- Thanks for your response. I love GA ! I buy their Canned Heat all the time--.38 and .223 esp. Have you ever shot their .30 ammo out of a Black Hawk OR do you only shoot it out of an M-1 Carbine ?
What brand of FACTORY ammo do you Ruger pistoleros favor in your .30 Carbine chambered Black Hawks. MilSurp seems a bit too hot, and causes hard extraction. I do NOT reload, so I'm looking for some factory load that works. Thanks for the help.................one eye joe
