Speaking of a Mauser. My Dad was very happy hunting with the 98k that he brought back for WWII. He never shot a deer with it as much as I can remember, but he was happy just to have it with him on hunts. For him it was more about getting out in the woods.

That YouTube tip worked great....now trying to figure out how to install the extractor over the retaining band.

Yes, you are correct. The Ruger website does not show that the Predator is available in 308 at this time.

I'd probably sell the scope and use one I already have. The scope I have in mind has a 50mm objective, and I'd rather use a smaller profile 40mm so still may need to buy another scope.

I forgot to mention that it is a Model 47140 and was shipped in 2014.
