22/45 problem: first trigger pull doesn't release hammer

Would anyone care to post pictures of this "MkII bushing" so we can see what the difference is?

Anybody ever chrono'd cci CB longs from a RugerMK pistol?

I can give a rough estimate. Considering that from a 24 inch barrel (at my altitude and temperature) Federal Champion bulk packs give 1221 fps, and CCI CB longs give 765, then (1/1221)*765=62.65%. Now, considering that from a Ruger Mk3 4" barrel (at my altitude and temperature) Federal...

    pre-owned Ruger MKII...grips melting?

Insect repellent can melt plastic parts too. I used some bug repellent in liquid "lotion" suspension once - the kind you squirt in your hands and rub on your skin - and it subsequently melted the side of my video recorder. I don't use liquid bug repellent anymore, and other than cheap Ruger...

    WWB .45 ACP ammo

WWB .45 ACP has always been good, inexpensive, reliable ammo for me - if not a bit smokey - but I burn ACP ammo in ACP pistols - not revolvers. If only 3 chambers of the cylinder were tight and the others weren't, what does that tell you about the consistency of the chambers? I don't mean to...

    Marking shells?

Some folks draw a ring around each cartridge case each time it is fired to keep track of the number of times it's been reloaded. There is a limit on the number of times a case can be safely used with some loads, in some guns.

    Ruger MK III/45

embalmer: Follow this link and bookmark it: http://www.guntalk-online.com/2245detailstripping.htm Click on the photos for a larger view. You may need to pull the hammer pin to get it apart, but don't fear it. It will all go back together again.

Mark III vs Mark III 22/45

I shoot 1911's too and got a 22/45 just to save on ammo costs. Early in the game I managed to get a magazine stuck in backwards (long story) and spent a couple of days hammering, prying , and beating on the silly thing. If it were your Daddy's kind of plastic (a polystyrene or something) it...

More money than brains? Where do I $ign up to capitali$e on that kind of action? :D

    Stupid and Stumped!

zenbiker: I did the same thing. It is the magazine disconnect that slips into the hole in the side of the magazine when inserted backward. Very nasty situation. Here is a link to the thread that describes how I learned about this design oversight: http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/viewtop ...

2245 Mk III Magazine Stuck in Pistol Backwards

Just for the record, she's all deburred and shined, blueing touched up nicely, grip knurl filed in pretty well, Ruger eagle re-glued, and all parts cleaned and reassembled. Everything seems to be OK. Just need to take it out and see how the sights held their zero. Case closed...

2245 Mk III Magazine Stuck in Pistol Backwards

Yes Sir. Many times - trying to get anything to happen; but with no correctly-inserted magazine, the hammer wouldn't fire via trigger pull. I even tried pushing up on the magazine disconnect, thinking perhaps that would let the hammer fall, but to push up on it required that the backwards...

2245 Mk III Magazine Stuck in Pistol Backwards

:D VICTORY AT LAST! :D Ahhhhhhh!!! 8) You're my hero raw6464! Thanks for your suggestions and moral support! Last night I tried the floor-beating approach while prying up on the back with a plastic rod. That succeeded in regaining the ability to close the mainspring assembly again, which...

2245 Mk III Magazine Stuck in Pistol Backwards

That's my plan raw6464 - and thanks for the suggestion! :D I just need to get some time to work on it again. Maybe tonight or tomorrow... The plan is to close the bolt, and while pulling up on the partially-open mainspring housing, whang the muzzle against the floor repeatedly until the...
