Slight drift but still on topic. I have loaded the Speer shot caps. Two things to watch/listen for. First do not overload the capsules.Shot jammed in tight can split the cap over time. The shot should be a little loose. Second. When crimping use just a light crimp. Over crimping can "score" the...
Old socks on the shop vac. That is a great idea. That would help finding lost parts in carpet or cracks. I still worry about static. Much of the year we are under 10% humidity. Have spent weeks around 5%. I turn the shop into a swamp when I load. Nothing rusts because it drys out fast when I...
I always work over a cloth. When I am done I role it up and shake it outside. In the past I have found ants on the bench taking the flakes away. What are they doing with it? Hope they know about safe storage!
Had the Howell for a 51 navy. The firing pin heads would "mushroom" making it hard to remove from the feral. Also messed up the hammer face. Pin would hit in the cap notch on the face pounding a big dent. Hammer and pins too soft? Spring too hard? Kirst makes them in stainless.
Going to the monster antique show this morning. Should be able to find a Ruger table. https://www.antiquearmsshow.com/ If you are near Vegas you need to go. Book mark it for next year. This is like a museum where you can buy stuff.
:DOK! It is just like #646. No "Liberty" on barrel. Over the years I passed on several ROAs because money was tight. Still is but this one was yelling "buy me". $499 plus tax. I read someplace that perhaps 500 reverse cylinders got shipped? What am I dealing with here?
Thanks for the info. I thought this might be a "good one". She is almost perfect, as new. Has been fired but well taken care of. No dings or dents. Will try to get pictures up. --- Never been a hard core "collector" but have owned lots of Rugers and you have my interest now. What is this...
This keeps the old guns shooting. I have bought parts that can't be found. And you get a little cash. I have several guns that would not work with out them.
Numrich will buy your old junk parts. You send them a box. They send you a check for what they will give plus what you paid for shipping. If you cash the check the deal is done. If you don't cash it in a given time they ship the box back at no charge for postage. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/...
