The TX22 Competition is a strong, fun alternative to the Mark IV, reliable and optics-friendly. Go for it if the price and features click; you won't be disappointed. Just run a few hundred rounds to smooth it out.

Both are tough, reliable Ruger wheelguns built like tanks, but the Security Six feels more refined and classic while the GP100 is the heavier-duty, easier-to-shoot evolution for serious .357 Magnum work.

Ruger customer service really does punch above its weight, they've bailed me out with small parts more than once, and it's one of the big reasons I keep buying their guns.

The slide lock spring and takedown spring will generally stay put in a spare RXM frame once properly seated, but they're loose enough that a slide lock or takedown pin helps secure them fully for storage/transport, I keep dedicated springs in each of my frames without major issues

Slim to none in the near future, Ruger already has strong players in the striker and 1911/2011 space, and reviving or cloning a classic Hi Power doesn't seem to fit their current lineup focus.
