I didn't buy the wrong model, I prefer the bobbed hammer but figured if I could easily switch to a regular hammer why not buy that part and have both! Looks like its turning into more of an issue than its worth so I'll just be happy with the way it is. Thanks for the input guys!

I would be keeping the bobbed hammer. From what I've read since this post it sounds like Ruger keeps the hammers in house and are not available for sale. I just bought a Ruger SP101 in .357 with the bobbed hammer and was wondering if its pretty straight forward to change out the bobbed hammer to a regular hammer? I assume that part is interchangeable but don't know for sure. I saw a video on how to completely disassemble the revolver to install...
