    Electronic powder scale

I used a PACT digital scale, borrowed from a friend, for two or three years and got hooked on it ... then bought a RCBS Rangemaster 750 that turned out to be a near exact clone of the PACT. I've been using the RCBS for seven or eight years now with no issues. I actually weigh every charge, but I...

Which company do you buy your cast handgun bullets from?

Off the top of my head, I've used cast bullets from Bayou Bullets, Berry's, RimRock, Ozark Trails, LeadHead, local small time "commercial cast" ... but the last 4-5 years I've been very pleased with GT Bullets for the 30-30, 38/357 and 44 mag/spl needs and X-Treme plated for the 9mm and 45 acp...

    Uberti 1873 357 Mag

I'm not about to offer reload opinions for the 1873. All I remember reading in the past it that the 1873 toggle action isn't strong enough to handle the modern .357 mag pressures, unless really toned down. jd

    Accurate #7

The LEE 2nd ed. lists Accurate #7 first in the lists for 9mm (115 gr cast or jacketed) and for .45 acp (230 gr cast or jacketed). I do reload and shoot both of those, a lot less than revolvers and lever guns, and AA#7 has always worked well in the "bottom feeders" for me. jd

    Accurate #7

forgot to mention I also have loads for 44 mag and 44 spl that use AA#7, mainly with cast bullets (which is over 90% of what I shoot). To me, AA#7 is kinda like Unique in it's versatility .... it may not be the "best" in anything, but it will work well in a whole lot of things. Actually, I...

    Accurate #7

I've used AA#7 in 45auto, 9mm, 357mag and 30-30 with cast boolits. I always keep AA#7 on hand since it's a little faster than #9 it tends to work better in my 3" SP-101 (357mag). And after discovering the joy of shooting cast boolits in the 30-30 with "pistol powders", AA#7 has become my...

    Accurate #9

I'm a big fan of Accurate #9 myself. My late mentor convinced me early in January 2011 to start out with two powders that would get me started with handgun loads .... Unique and A2400. Considering the time in history, being a just little less "stressful" than today, A2400 was no where to be...

    Brass plated steel cases

These new brass plated steel cases have been getting me in trouble at the recycling place this year. I've been taking range pick-up brass that I don't reload for to the "scrap yard" for the last 15 years or so. I've never had a problem being able to visually sort the plated/coated steel stuff...

    Reload Is A Tight Fit

I'm having a hard time understanding the issue, and now not sure if the bullet under consideration is jacketed or cast. I don' shoot a lot of jacketed bullets, but I do shoot a lot of cast. My SP-101 was what originally inspired me to take up reloading in early 2011, and since then I'm sure that...
