    SBH Hunter Scope Rings

The ID of the rings I just installed were extremely rough and undersized so I use 400 and 600 grit paper around an under sized dowel to lap them some. I also used a feeler gauge in the gap of the cap side to side as I tightened the screws. I asked my local gunsmith about loc-tite and he said...

    SBH Hunter Scope Rings

I was able to use my largest screwdriver but it still did not fit the full slot. Per my local gun shop gun smith - most don’t tighten these screws enough. I tightened & loosened several times as I also worked the rings to the scope. I now feel that I could remove the scope and reinstall it and...

    SBH Hunter Scoped Holster

SJS, Yes even with the 32mm scope it fits well down into the holster. I think the Super Redhawk with the red dot was tighter, guessing the Hunter frame is just a little smaller. Not sure if Uncle Mikes is still making this model - so if you find one grab it.

    SBH Hunter Scoped Holster

I too have a new SBH Hunter - mine is wearing a Burris 2-7x32. I picked up a Uncle Mikes Bandoleer holster for it, before I even ordered the gun. I use to use one of these 20 years ago when I had a SRH with a red dot. I remember liking the easily adjustable strap that it has, especially as...

A SBH Hunter coming - looking for cast lead load suggestions

Well I shot the first 40 rounds over lunch, as the local indoor range near work is only $10 until 2pm. All went pretty well. I'm pleased with the groups considering I was really there just to test the gun and see how the recoil was with the 4 differant powder wheights. I bought Unique as it...

A SBH Hunter coming - looking for cast lead load suggestions

JSH - - Thanks. The Lee 4-die set has separate seating and crimping dies and the issues came at seating - with the neck tension these have and lower charges I dought there is a reason to have much of a roll - but I did put on a small one. See your from Kansas - Our only kid is at KU - year 2...

A SBH Hunter coming - looking for cast lead load suggestions

First reloading session this week end - mixed success. Went with Unique poweder as it seemed to be one that gave a wider range of load velocities. Had Cabelas points to went there and got the Unique, CCI primers and bullets. The only 240gr lead they had for .44 was Laser-Cast Keith profile...

A SBH Hunter coming - looking for cast lead load suggestions

Mus408, I went with Lee's new Deluxe Challenger kit (single stage). It has there new deluxe powder measure and an off-press bench priming tool. I do plan on decapping using my drill press with a shell holder and pin - so that I can come to the loading press dies with cleaned cases. I'm going...

A SBH Hunter coming - looking for cast lead load suggestions

I have a SBH hunter arriving shortly as well as new loading equipment and Starline brass. I’m brand new to reloading and looking for advice. This Hunter will wear a 2-7 Burris scope. I plan on polishing the internal moving parts, slugging the barrel and cylinders and polishing them up (fire...

Newbie - opinions wanted - SBH Hunter w/ Burris 2-7

Thanks all - especially on the scope - really got me thinking I should back down to just a fixed 2X. It is really hard to know what to do without the chance to use it for a while and at $300+ for a scope that a big "gamble". Two of the reasons for having planned (note past tense) on the 2-7X...

Newbie - opinions wanted - SBH Hunter w/ Burris 2-7

Ok - I'm intrested in opinions and experiences - newbie to this site. I'm about to purchase a Minnesota Whitetail hunting rig - a SBH Hunter that I plan on putting a Burris 2-7 scope on. Been planning this now for 3+ years. Own many ruger long guns and use to have a Super Redhawk with a red...
