I have pictures on my phone now. 1969 model for sure. The left side, medallion side has the hole closest to the bottom of the grip, so I guess a A-54 frame. The medallion side looks like it's 48 years old too.
I'm going to have to ask my Brother. He has the gun in Georgia. it was my Fathers and he says that the grips are different than the Mark II. Serial numbers he said put in the 1969 time frame. He had pictures of the frame and serial number on his phone last night.
I can be more specific after I...
I also have a 5" Remington R1 stainless that was only opened once to take a picture that I could also trade plus a few dollars if need be.
Notice a trend here with unfired 1911's?
I was the first kid on the block in my area to get a SR1911 commander, but I might have only opened the box to take a picture. I don't think I will ever shoot it and "just have to have" the new SR1911 10mm.
My idea is this swapping my Commander shipped to your FFL for one of these shipped to...
I've got a 1913 just like yours except it has very old wood grips. I would be very happy to have the correct grips on it even with a chip.
I also have the original period holster it came with.
