Ruger P Series pistols. How good are/were they?

Echoing the prior previous post, the P series guns have been the best buy in reliable semiauto handguns for years. They just work, they do what they are supposed to do and do it well.

Single Six Magnum (Blind hog tale)

I can only tell you my method! I actually pick up and inspect every old model Ruger that I find in the wild. No stone left unturned!

Single Six Magnum (Blind hog tale)

Well even a blind hog sometimes finds a truffle. I snuck up on this Single Six today. Wasn't looking for one, but have honestly never seen on in the wild! 1959 22mag only. Well the pics are upside down, but here they are!

    Old model Super Single Six

I just compared the grips to my 1971 45 convertible. They look very similar. I really can't tell any real difference other than more wear on the 45.

    Old model Super Single Six

I checked my old RENE (I need to order a new one) it falls into the range of Silver Eagel grips. I'll have to see if I can tell the difference between "squashed" or not.

    Old model Super Single Six

One of my favorite haunts took this in pawn a while back. Previous owner never came back for it! Around here, a Super Single Six; especially an old model, is very hard to find. As soon as I spotted it this morning I grabbed it. It is basically new. No turn marks, no soot, the only wear is a...

    22/45 in for service

I fired 50 through it last night with no issues. Mixed ammo, all lead. I believe they got it sorted out. Ruger customer service is hard to beat. This was a beat up old dog of a .22. They went above and beyond as far as I can tell.

    22/45 in for service

I received it back yesterday. They had replaced the broken sites, loaded chamber indicator and the sear. Straight out of the box it failed to eject and jammed on the 3rd shot. I couldn't get 3 consecutive shots out of it with federal ammo. Took it back to the bench and oiled it really good. It...

    22/45 in for service

I'll be receiving it back tomorrow. Not sure what they did to fix it. Maybe the paperwork in the packaging will say.

No reply yet. They have received it and a technician is working on it. We'll see.....
