Confused About Inherited Single Six Issue (1955 3-Screw)

LOL, yeah three trips to the range and four guns in the safe. Guess I better go pick up that 3-screw .22 MAG (Only) Single Six I have my eye on to justify another trip to the range huh?

Confused About Inherited Single Six Issue (1955 3-Screw)

UPDATE: The hammer plunger finally arrived and I installed the new piece and tuned the gun to the best of my ability. It still had a little bit of a hitch in the hammer/trigger so I took it into the gunsmith. $30 and two days later and he handed it back to me in 100% perfect working...

I went ahead and ordered The Ruger Single Action Revolvers: A Shop Manual Volumes 1 & 2 Book by Jerry Kuhnhausen. I should have it before the parts come in so I'm hoping that I'll have this gun at the range within the next couple weeks. :)

Confused About Inherited Single Six Issue (1955 3-Screw)

I ordered a couple hammer plungers and springs from Numrich (figure might as well have a backup). I'm going to call around a little bit today to the local gun shops to see if anyone has one laying around as well (gonna be a long week+ waiting for the parts from NY --> CA). lol Thank you all...

I think the cylinder issue is just a case of everything not lining up properly because the plunger pin (and the pawl plunger in backwards). If I put the cylinder in place with the base pin it spins freely and smoothly. It's just when I put everything back together as is, it's locked into place.

I doubt it because they don't have the ruger medallion on them. I know that they are at least 20+ years old (length of time my dad has had this gun in his closet) and they do show some wear. I have no idea who the manufacture is of them, there isn't any markings that I can see. I like them...

Confused About Inherited Single Six Issue (1955 3-Screw)

My dad just gave me an old single six that he got from my grandfather (his father in law). It's been sitting around for over a decade. The issue is that the hammer wont move past middle position (will not compress enough to actually fire anything). It can be cocked and once the trigger is...
