Put a scope on it. The list of things one can't do as well as one gets older is so long that to concede defeat when alternatives are available is paramount to not getting out of bed. Remember : with age comes wisdom. Hopefully!
I have a red pad with the long throat. I hand load hyped up loads with the long 120 grn Barnes TTSX seated waaay out there. It has killed 2 elk with one shot each so far. Range accuracy at 100 yards went from dismal to impressive.
