My favorite .357 load is Lyman's # 358429 170 gr (in my alloy) hard cast sized .357" and pushed to ~1400 fps out of a 10" TC Contender. Recoil is not objectionable. A BH will handle it with ease. It will punch through any deer shot broadside. I prefer the shoulder shot. Little meat damage. Machado
