My latest acquisition is a Ruger American 9MM Compact.
After putting about 200 rounds thru it my overall impression is very favorable.
Decent trigger and even though the reset is long and somewhat indistinct shoots really well for me in rapid fire drills.
The rear sight is very good but the...
I now have one coming and it should be here early next week - $835 shipped.. Wolff spring assortment on the way from Midway too - from what I've been reading I will probably use the #14 spring. Have been considering the T-Grip and might be able to get Harrett to make a grip but would probably...
I don't have one yet would love to hear from anyone who does. Hopefully I will have one within the next couple of weeks and am looking for advice and sources for grips and moon clips. So far TK Custom seems to be the only source for Moon Clips but I have not checked around yet. What about...
OOPS!!
I forgot about the .22 guns.
I am referring to the .38/357 Speed, Security and Service Six series.
Thanks Bearcat - I will likely get with you after the first of the year when I decide what height I want. I wish to drop the point of impact some just have not decided how much.
Does anyone know if the "Six" series front sights share the same shape as the SP101 sights?
I shoot mostly 38spls in my 4" Speed Six and wish to lower the POI with a taller front sight and add fiber.
Hoping Ruger used a similar sight shape on the SP101 so I might find some that would work off...
I have just been reading about flat wire coil springs and how they don't exibit "stacking" the way round or "piano wire" springs do. If that is the case wouldn't they produce a superior DA trigger pull on guns like the Speed/Service/Security-Six and GP series gun? Is there a reason ti is...
I am wanting a tirtrium front for my LCR. Can anyone tell me how the Novak and XS compare? Will either one make the gun shoot a little lower - mine is about 6" high at 7 yards??
No, but first time putting a red dot on a Mini-14 and I'm looking for recommendations as to a good mount. So far the UTG mount looks good for a receiver mount but will it stay in place after a little blue loctite? I may go with a handguard mount but the ones I've seen that let you see the iron...
XS is supposed to have one very soon. It depends on how skilled you are as to weather or not you would be able to install it as XS sights are usually shipped requiring a hole be drilled in the sight where the pin will go. Gunsmith installation is simple and should be inexpensive.
Ruger single action revolvers are IMO the BEST made bar none! I have owned 5 DA revilvers ( 2 Security Sixes, 1 GP100, 1 6"Redhawk and a LCR) and while they were all well built with the exception of the LCR the DA triggers were horrible. Even with lighter springs and after thousands of rounds...
