I just got mine today. I've been looking at things like a 13# recoil spring and stainless guide rod. Anyone using either of these? Do you recommend them? Are there other upgrades to look for? What are the best sources for them? Thanks for any and all input.

I've ordered the Max and expect it to arrive next week, $385 OTD with a 12 round magazine added in. That's $356 plus tax including the extra mag. It should make an almost invisible carry option.

I think 79c for a box of 50 was the lowest price I ever experienced. And if you couldn't afford it you could buy however many rounds you wanted for 2c each. The good old days when the local hardware store meant something.

I'd probably contact Ruger and make sure no matter what they would return that specific gun with S/N whatever it is to me. If yes, I'd send it to them. I've heard a lot of good reports on their NC (I think it is) facility so I'd probably try to send it there.

Tell him ahead of time "Be sure to bring at least 200 rounds of ammo with you."?

They used to give you 100% if you chose a certain option, often Amazon gift code but whatever that particular one partnered with.

Those Skeeter Skelton books are great. I had them 50 years ago. Don't know what happened to them. Really wish I still had them. He was the best writer any of the gun magazines ever had.

According to last year's Blue Book the SP101 in 100% is $575, 98% is $500, 95% is $425. The 125gr marking was discontinued in 1991. Add $100 for 125gr marking.

They've got the Max-9 which I just got yesterday and the LCP-Max which I might get someday.
