    Satin Stainless vs Target Grey?

I love the look of the target grey and when I bought my SRH they had just stopped shipping the grey finish. However, the brushed stainless is fine too.

    RUGER SECURITY SIX

The 2-3/4" Security Six was my first .357 in 1982. I bought a 6" version from a work friend in 2005 for $250 and its serial number puts it being made that same year. This is a fast shooting revolver. I get higher velocity from it than I do my 7" bbl 686.

    Reloading the 45 colt

The plated bullets are very soft and if driven too fast will swage up in the barrel throat and spike pressure dramatically. The gas check cast will work fine and can be driven at any speed that revolver is capable of handling. Hodgdon has a Ruger only starting load of 4227 behind a 250 grain...

    LC9 magazines

I don't know about Pro Mag these days but about 10 years ago I bought two Pro Mag's for a P220 and neither would feed reliably. I ended up tossing them in the trash.

A Really Huge OH SH-T Moment!

With rare exception it's not possible to discharge a round merely by the action of cycling a live round into the chamber unless your firing pin assembly is defective and was jammed forward, permitting it to protrude from the bolt face and detonate a cartridge unintentionally. If the above is...

LCR 38, Tighten Fire Control Housing Screw Each Time Used

If it's a screw that needs to remain tight but isn't, I would remove it, then thoroughly degrease it and the threaded hole with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, then once that's dried apply blue locktite (242) to the threads and bring it up to "snug". Torque values are called out when there is a need to...

New bullet for the .500 Maximum

What kind of velocities are we talking about here? Looks like that would drop an elephant.

Single Six free spinning cylinder, need recommendation

If you remove the cylinder so you are looking at the empty frame, when you swing out the loading gate, the cylinder bolt should retract into the frame. When you close the gate, the bolt should rise back into the frame. If it's not doing so then as mentioned previously it's either gummed up...

RCBS Bullet Puller and Black Powder

How about one of these: http://www.amazon.com/RCBS-Bullet-Puller-without-Collet/dp/B000N8N1YQ/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1410123159&sr=8-3-fkmr0&keywords=mechanical+bullet+puller That's probably what I'm going to order the next time I have an occasion to pull bullets. The kinetic bullet...

    GP100, Canted Barrel

I would go ahead and have it returned for straightening. If it were mine it would bug me every time I looked at it. The time it will take to have it rectified is a small price to pay to have a pistol that is right.

Anyone loaded .454 Casull with Unique

So I checked our club event calendar, nothing was shown for Friday Sept 5th. Then I get to the club only to be greeted by a member informing me, "All ranges indoor and out are closed today due to a gun show this weekend". I emailed them as soon as I got home informing them they need...

45 ACP load results vs published data

Are the barrel lengths the same? Often component makers will test out of a 5" barrel while many common barrel lengths encountered today seem to be somewhat shorter ( about 4.25")

Anyone loaded .454 Casull with Unique

Will do Contender. Ended up loading two groups, both with a LBT LFN 325 grain bullet in Winchester brass and CCI standard small rifle primer. One group has 10 grains Unique and the other has 11 grains. So long as the weather cooperates Friday I'll post up the results.

Anyone loaded .454 Casull with Unique

Looks good Jim. Hopefully I can get out Friday to test 10 grains.

Anyone loaded .454 Casull with Unique

Thanks Jim. That's what I'm thinking. Ultimately I'd like to see if Unique can push them close to 1100 fps (7.5" barrel) so long as whatever charge that is doesn't run pressures too high. I'll know where I stand once I get 10 grains clocked and check the cases.
