I love the look of the target grey and when I bought my SRH they had just stopped shipping the grey finish. However, the brushed stainless is fine too.

The 2-3/4" Security Six was my first .357 in 1982. I bought a 6" version from a work friend in 2005 for $250 and its serial number puts it being made that same year. This is a fast shooting revolver. I get higher velocity from it than I do my 7" bbl 686.

If you remove the cylinder so you are looking at the empty frame, when you swing out the loading gate, the cylinder bolt should retract into the frame. When you close the gate, the bolt should rise back into the frame. If it's not doing so then as mentioned previously it's either gummed up...

I would go ahead and have it returned for straightening. If it were mine it would bug me every time I looked at it. The time it will take to have it rectified is a small price to pay to have a pistol that is right.

Are the barrel lengths the same? Often component makers will test out of a 5" barrel while many common barrel lengths encountered today seem to be somewhat shorter ( about 4.25")

Will do Contender. Ended up loading two groups, both with a LBT LFN 325 grain bullet in Winchester brass and CCI standard small rifle primer. One group has 10 grains Unique and the other has 11 grains. So long as the weather cooperates Friday I'll post up the results.

Thanks Jim. That's what I'm thinking. Ultimately I'd like to see if Unique can push them close to 1100 fps (7.5" barrel) so long as whatever charge that is doesn't run pressures too high. I'll know where I stand once I get 10 grains clocked and check the cases.
