    Bear at the Bird Feeder

Thanks for the nice comments. Fred, I'm 5' 9" and the tray at the bottom of the feeder is about at my forehead. I live just across the road from a wooded river bluff, that is National Park Land. The river is about 200' feet lower than my yard and the bluff is quite rugged terrain. The bear...

    Bear at the Bird Feeder

Thanks for the nice comments. Wish I could take credit for the photos. I just hung the trail camera on the only tree that was suitable for watching the bird feeder. Sometimes you get lucky. :D

    Bear at the Bird Feeder

Back on the evening of May 26th around 10:15 PM, I went out onto the kitchen deck to call the cats in for the night and I saw movement that was NOT one of the cats. Turned out to be a black bear and at least one very small cub! They ran through the thick wooded portion of my yard...

    Eagle this morning.

Rugerguy, thank you. :D Kevin, yes he did. It was kind of unsettling. Especially the way he turned and looked at me just before I snapped the third photo.

    Eagle this morning.

This morning on my way into work less than a mile from my house I noticed an Eagle in a tree directly above the road. I've seem them in this tree a few times before but they either flew off as I passed under, or I didn't have my camera with. This morning I had my camera with and it stayed put...

Please add your favorite sunset picture!

Here's a sunset photo and a shot of the moon from the same evening taken during the 2010 Wisconsin Youth Deer hunt. I took this sunset photo as a thunderstorm was passing over. The entire sky had this eerie orange glow to it. My daughter enjoying the sunset on Lake Superior from the...

    Visitor to my salt lick

I have quite a few Pileated Woodpeckers around my house. They go through suet like crazy. I have the suet feeder in a maple tree a short distance from my house. They typically fly from across the road up my driveway, swoop around the corner of the house and land in the tree. Once they feel safe...

    Ruger Girl, (the kitty)

Those are great cat photos! :D My two cats always seem to show up when I'm on the computer too. This is Selah, he likes to lay on top of the old tube monitor. This is Tatelah, she likes to lay on or near my arms or even across my chest when I'm using my laptop.

What's it take for good full moon pictures?

I used my Sony DSC-HX100V to take this photo of the moon last night. 30x optical zoom. This was taken hand held, no tripod used. I have a couple tripods but I was too lazy to go get one.

    Ruger No. 1 RSI Collection

Singleshot, awesome collection! That .243 looks familiar. The stocks on the 7x57, the 30/06 Springfield and the .300 RCM are especially stunning. Nice display as well.

    show us your ATVs...

Contender, yes it does have rather unique antlers but there's no mulies anywhere near. That's my father's last whitetail. The photos are from 2004 and my father passed away in 2007. He shot it off of our hunting property in Northern Wisconsin which is a little over 20 miles away from where James...

Here's mine. It's a 2002 Arctic Cat 500. The only mods are the addition of the two Kolpin rifle scabbards.
