XS Big Dot sights for the Ruger LC9s Pro - a PITA install

Update and mystery solved.... First off be very careful. The XS Big Dot sights, front and rear that I bought off Amazon did not fit (without tremendous effort) my new LC9s Pro even though it says right on the XS packaging for the "LC9, LC380." Secondly, the front sight does not say Trijicon...

    LC9s mags

Somehow it's become an urban legend that the American made mag for the LC9 is inferior to the Italian MecGar. More gun forum BS (I have read this on multiple gun forums) spread by people who haven't the faintest and are prepared to blame problems on something or someone else. Both mags work...

    LC9s mags

The less expensive ProMags have since the dawn of creation been considered inferior in quality to the MecGar or other OEM pistol mags. This is another way of saying they are considered crap, for the range only. So trying to save a few bucks on something as critical as magazine functionality...

XS Big Dot sights for the Ruger LC9s Pro - a PITA install

I was all ready to install the Big Dot sights on my brand new LC9s Pro when my gunsmith (who also sold me the gun) said he would do the install for a nominal amount. I said sure, why not, one less thing for me to do. My time is valuable. Fast forward, he got the sights in but said it was one...

    Ruger LC9s Pro.....not a bad little 9mm

I bought a brand new LC9s Pro yesterday, range fired today an assortment of factory ammo and reloads (made by me) 150 rounds and used both the US and Italian made magazines.....not one single failure. This gun is a winner. And compared to the Beretta Nano that I had, is a gift from the...

    Ruger LCP 380 +1 Grip???

The stock mag spring will work but using the extra power Wolff mag spring for the Keltec P3AT can't hurt either when using the IG +1. Topic has been discussed in great detail by LCP owners at the LCP forum: http://elsiepeaforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=11092.0

    steel cased 380

http://elsiepeaforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=11465.msg102356#msg102356 The reviews as per the above have been favorable overall, albeit it's on the dirty side. Personally, I stick to my own reloads for the LCP or the occasional factory ball ammo from Remington or Winchester.

    LCP P+ ammo

If the PDX1 exceeds the SAAMI pressure limit set for .380 (21,500 psi) it would have to be labeled as such and I find it hard to believe that Winchester (certainly no fringe ammo maker) would take such liberties (to say nothing of the liabilities issues involved) so we have to be careful here...

    LCP P+ ammo

"The best 380 hollow-point (HP) on the market that I am aware of is the (BONDED) PDX1 from Winchester. It has a +P rating and the recoil spring in your semi-auto (i.e. Ruger LCP) may need to be upgraded if you shoot this load in it. " 147 Grain, how do you know that the (BONDED) PDX1 exceeds...

Cool Weather Carry - Ruger LCP

The Desantis for the money is a good little front pocket holster but like any holster designed for multiple guns, it is not a "dedicated" LCP holster so there is some compromise involved. My guess (I could be wrong) is that when you turn it upside down with your gun inside, the gun will fall...

    Problems with LCP?

The LCP is hardly new and the current iteration overall is about a problem free as you are going to get in any pocket .380 regardless of price almost to the point of being boring. The early kinks were worked out long ago. Still, "stuff" will rear its ugly head with any man-made product and...

    LCP or Diamond Back

Good to hear. 'Wish I could say it was a surprise but the current LCP is about as problem free as you are going to get in a pocket .380 for 300 plus dollars. Complaints are few and far between at the Ruger LCP forum. Keep shooting it. I think you made the right decision as would most folks...

    LCP walking pins?

Ok but the next time one walks and then stops leave it alone if it extends out just a little. By continually pushing the pin back in so it's flush with the frame, you may be making the problem worse.

    LCP walking pins?

Mini, not sure what you mean by "it's past the plastic on the left" but the pin is extending say beyond an 1/8 inch or so and seems to be getting worse, I would first try new Ruger pins (I've experimented with the P3AT pins in an LCP and did not see any improvement) and see if that makes a...
