    What model is it ?

I bought a 77 new a few years ago and I cannot remember which model it is. Laminate stock, 16.5" barrel and barrel mounted scope ring base. Chambered in 358 Win. it is wonderfully accurate in spite of the short barrel and is one of my favourite rifles to carry. It has proven itself capable of...

    Ruger 77 Barrel twist ?

Would anyone happen to know what the barrel twist would be in a 1976 vintage mod. 77 tang safety in 257 Roberts ? Any info will be greatly appreciated..

Stock for an older Ruger ?

A recent acquisition has me wondering if replacement stocks are still available for older 77s. Mine is a beautiful tang safety '76 vintage 257 Roberts and shoots too well to leave in the safe, but I'd like to pare a pound or so off the weight. I'm thinking about a lighter synthetic stock... any...

    Ruger American rifle?

I'd like to hear from someone who has a 243 before I order one. My Brother has a 270 and he likes it, also the 30-06 owners seem satisfied with the accuracy they are getting.

Frontier MkII - anyone removed your barrel rib?

Mine is a 358 too and I also considered removing the ramp, but since most of my hunting is in timbered areas at short range ( under 200 yds. ) , I simply mounted a Leupold 1.5X5 leaving the ramp on and for me its ideal. First time out, it put a Mulie in the freezer...

Ruger Redhawk 4.2 bbl. in 45 Colt

These pics show up a lack of polishing on the inside of the frame. As much as I like the gun I do think Ruger could apply a bit better quality control especially considering the price of these revolvers. I could not be happier with the performance of the gun, the cosmetics leave a lot to be desired

Ruger Redhawk 4.2 bbl. in 45 Colt

One thing I've noticed on my gun is a distinct gap where the crane snugs up against the frame in the front. Several friends with the same gun only in 44 Mag. have noticed this as well. Does anyone know if this is common only to the 4.2 Redhawk as older models have a much tighter fit in the same...

Ruger Redhawk 4.2 bbl. in 45 Colt

Once fired Hornady that I shot yesterday averaged 1.222 after firing. New out of the bag Starline brass measured 1.275 to 1.2775 before trimming. Actually quite a significant difference..

    Restocking a Frontier

I hope this is the proper forum to ask this. I'm wondering if a stock for a Ruger 77 Mk. 1 would fit a Hawkeye Frontier in 358..the Mk.1 stock being short action as is the Frontier. Or would I be better served to find a short action synthetic stock for it. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Ruger Redhawk 4.2 bbl. in 45 Colt

I shot it today and am very inpressed, Its a very beefy revolver, bigger in fact than my S&W 28 4" and heavier than my old '58 vintage 44 Flat top. 2 clicks up and it was in the center @ 25 yds., very comfortable to shoot. Now to come up with something to carry it in. Ideally a shoulder holster...

Ruger Redhawk 4.2 bbl. in 45 Colt

Much to my amazement my Ruger 45 arrived today. A friend gave me some new Hornady 255 gr. FTX loads marked Leverevolution to burn off for brass. Now is this stuff meant for a rifle or will it work in the Redhawk without any harm... I know the Redhawk is a very strong gun, just want to make sure...

Ruger Redhawk 4.2 bbl. in 45 Colt

Shouldn't be a problem providing I can get the reamer as there is lots of info on the 'net. The gun is a stainless unit. Thanks everyone for all your input.... most appreciated. :D

Couldn't resist so today I bought one and now its time to play " watch for the mailman". I would really like to hear from anyone else with one, like what are your thoughts on the gun, what does other owners use for loads as I will be handloading for it. Also what would be a good holster...

    Handloads for an old Flattop

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I'll keep tinkering with the Unique as I have tons of it. As for the cleaning, it does add to the fun. :D
