    Lawyer Warnings

I just can not believe some brain dead idiots think stamping warnings all over an other wile nice looking firearm makes it somehow safer to use! I had a cast iron box stove in my shop once that had "Hot When In Use" cast in huge letters across the feed door. Why aren't cars stenciled on all...

    The Mark III

Thanks for all the comments on the Mark III's guys. Been a long time since I'd considered something "new". Digging around I found there are a lot of parts and kits available to get rid of what I considered irritants on the new model. So, I had decided to get one and was on my way to town to...

    The Mark III

I'm going down to a gun show this weekend, so I'm going to stop in and have another look at that Mark III. I almost bought that Redhawk, but I let the fact it was a double action finally make up my mind. I like the old 3 screw Blackhawks, wish I could afford a few more. I bought a new CZ453 a...

    The Mark III

Hmm, I saw that it had a loaded chamber indicator, but I never ran a round in. Just though it might be a little button that could be seen or felt. If it's a big flaming warning device I sure wouldn't want one of those. I just passed up a good deal on an almost unfired RedHawk because I didn't...

    The Mark III

OK, there we go. Why? I looked over a new standard model pretty well and didn't see much quirky new age stuff. Actually thought it looked pretty much like the old ones.

    The Mark III

Don't like 'em, only reason I need. Very few guns of recent manufacture I'd have.

    The Mark III

Lots of similar actions around. I wouldn't give you two bits for a 22/45; same was as I wouldn't own a NM Blackhawk.

    POWDER POSITION, RELATIVE TO PRESSURE

Unique might be worthless, but it sure works for me! Another worthless one, W231, also performs with no problems. My favorites in .357 Mag with cast bullets.

    The Mark III

I don't consider the 22/45 in the same league as the pistol that started out as the Mark I. I consider that design a classic little 22. I figured the Mark III was loaded with lawyered up safety features. The new one I was looking at in a friends gun shop didn't look too different. Still all the...

Well, this sure didn't get far.

    The Mark III

Are the new ones as nice as the older ones used to be? I've wanted one of those for years and am thinking of getting one next week. It'll be the first NIB firearm I've bought for years.

    Getting The Lead Out

Tight patches in a dry bore get an amazing amount of lead, not all but goes a long way in the process.

    Getting The Lead Out

I've never bought this idea that shooting a jacketed bullet through a leaded bore will clean it out. If that's the case, why ever clean a firearm? Just shoot a clean jacketed bullet through it and it's clean right? I doubt the barrel would bulge, the bullet would probably just size to the...

How much brass is enough brass?

Don't really know how much I have. Way less than some people I know. I try to keep a couple thousand cases for each handgun caliber. Some rifles a couple hundred cases is plenty, especially ones that don't have a long reloading life and are expensive to buy new.

38 special Unique loads for 158 gr JHP?

Speer #7 160grn jacketed SP. Unique- 4.5 to 5.6 grns. Think I have some other manuals around that give some 38SPL/Unique data, but I'd have to do some digging.
