    Smith 69

I've had a M69 for a few months now. It seems to handle cast without any issues. I've shot hard cast with .44 Spl level loads. Full house .44 mag loads are a bit much for me. My only complaint is the DA trigger pull which is way too heavy for my taste. I tried a lighter spring but reliability...

Shooting the 3.75 Inch barrel Bisley Super 44 magnum

Nice, but you would think that they could find a way to make the grip panels fit after fifty years of practice. Jack

I am right on the edge... SR22 or 22-45 Lite

My answer would have been different before I bought the 22/45 Lite. I love it! I always said that I would never own a MKIII, until I handled the Lite. Be aware that you will spend an extra $85 if you want a decent trigger and drop-free mags. The VQ trigger and sear will fix the crummy trigger...

    Hammer Plunger

Fred, If the plunger is too long it will not work or even may not fit back into the gun. I replaced one in a single six and the factory one was too long to work. I called customer service and they sent more, also too long, and said that there was only one length that fit all single sixes. I...

HKS Speedloaders are all them junk?

I bought HKS loaders for my 7-shot 686 and they were useless. I could not find any way to contact them on the web and the packaging was carefully devoid of any contact info. I bought speedloaders from 5Star ( http://www.5starfirearms.com/speed_loaders.html ) and they work perfectly. Jack

GP-100: full lug to half lug?

This is a S&W but I've thought more than once about having my 6" GP done this way: It handles like a 4". Jack

    .45 Colt Blackhawk

I've found the reflex sights are harder to find the dot quickly, compared to a tube style. The reflex sights, except for the EOTech, are a little delicate & prone to breakage. The tube sights seem to present a cleaner image of the dot if you have older eyes. Having tried both, I greatly prefer...

Loose sight pin - Blackhawk Convertible .45

I've had a few sight pins that wanted to walk out. I've taken a round nosed punch and lightly peened both ends of the hole. It just takes a light tap and the results are effective but not obvious. Jack

    10/22 Quick Release scope mount

FWIW, Barska makes an AO 2-7x32 airgun scope with mildots that works great on .22s. It is paralax adjustable for short range and the mildots make hold over a snap. I use mine on a .22 rifle out to 100 yds without having to adjust for elevation and it makes me look like a good shot. Jack

Ruger Stnlss BlackHwk, Talon model 3" gr

I would take a new, full length ejector rod and thin the muzzle end of it about 1/16" to increase the stroke and then cut it off to a length that would allow about 1/16" to project thru the frame when at rest. This will give you about 3/16" additional stroke length. I have seen custom...

    In the grip of....

Eagle makes traditional style 2 piece grips for the GP100. I bought a pair but found them not well fitted. Eagle would not take them back or repair them. You might get luckier than me. Jack

    Slightly confused

What's not to like? Easy on the eyes.. There is nothing faster to the first shot, more accurate and able to handle heavy loads than a single action revolver. The single action revolver has been around for over 175 years. It's hard to argue with that kind of tradition. The .357 can be...

    Taylor Throat Reamers

I believe that Clymer and Manson still make the Taylor style reamers. Jack

Please answer what ought to be a simple question about POI

Faster bullets leave the barrel sooner in the recoil cycle & will shoot lower. You move the front sight in the opposite direction that you want to move the POI. A shorter front sight will be needed. Jack
