Just got a Vaquero and joined SASS

Gratz on the new Vaquero. I also am planning on getting into cowboy shooting this coming season. I just picked up a Stoeger the other day so now I am only 1 revolver short of having all the guns I need. I just need to find a Vaq or Blackhawk at a reasonable price and I'll be set. Yes...

    cci 400 small rifle primers??

$20 for 100 primers is not a steal. More like being robbed. $20/K is a good deal though.

    LRN in SR9c

125gr LRN are all that I have shot thryough my SR 9 in the last 18 months or so. They work fine. Leading is minimal to nonexistent as long as the bullets are the right size and hardness. If you are using reloads, just remember that the curve of teh bullet nose is more rounded for lead than...

Found the elusive Chore Boy scrubbers

I'm pretty sure Scott's brand also makes a pure copper scrubbing pad that works as well as Chore Boy. Just make sure it is pure copper. Bring a magnet if you suspectit isn't pure copper.

    Hoppes Lead Remover

On the Coat tails of GP100man's thread, this is my lead remover. It never takes more than a little bit of scrubbing to clean my guns, but then my bullets are the right size and hardness, but that is another thread entirely.

    sr9 mag release

Compare the SR9 slide release to the 1911. The SR9 is tiny and it is no surprise it takes force to operate it. If it is too difficult, you can always slingshot the slide.

    Lee Carbide Sizing Dies

Without stirring the pot too much, I would like to know how it makes such a "huge" difference. I have several FCD and all I see is some post sizing of intentionally oversized lead bullets (which probably contribute to leading) or it forces the straightening of a badly seated bullet that should...

    Camping Gun Recommendations

One thing I don't really see discussed here is bullet choice. It seems to me that if I were choosing a camping gun, I would be just as interested in what bullets I would use as the gun. You're going to be much more successful with a 357mag loaded with 158gr LSWC or 180gr LRN then you would with...

Using Lee carbide 357 dies on 38 SP?/ how to make blanks?

I made some gluelets in 45acp a while back powered only by the primer. Shooting across the room, they would put a real good fracture and dent in the piece of 1/4" plywood I was using for a target. While they wouldn't go through, you could see a lot of splintered wood on the back side. Gluelets...

Good powder for "wimpy" .38 rounds

Bullseye is what I use and it performs great. Red Dot and 231 (HP-38) should work equally well. Basically any fast burning powder should do well in lightly loaded 38spec.

    Lee Pro Auto-Disk Powder Measure

but you won't be expanding the case mouth if you don't use it in a press.

    poll on sr9 owners

but there are so many of us with no issues at all with the SR9...we can't all be drowning in Kool Aid. Mine goes bang every time and no peening issues. BTW I had my SR9 for a while before I joined this forum and never heard about any issues until I got here. Instead of Ruger Kool Aid, maybe it...

    poll on sr9 owners

Somewhere between 1k and 2k rounds and no issues so far.

Trying to load up on reloading supplies

Not that anyone really pays attention to this but: IIRC I was reading one of those storage and handling papers for primers and powder (maybe in a reloading manual but I really forget where I saw it) a while ago and seem to remember 10k being the supposed max in a residence.
