Great article along with lots of information from the knowledgeable members on here. I have a 4 5/8" Single
Six with the varnished walnut grips with the serial # 1346XX that I knew was from 1959 but I didn't know
when Ruger first offered the gun with barrel lengths other than the 5 1/2"...
I have one in stainless that I bought several years ago at an estate auction. I got no box or papers with it so I
don't know much about it other than it's a Liberty marked gun. It had been fired some but was clean as a pin
when I bought it. The serial number is the four digit type before the...

of semi autos by using domestic and imported parts but by no means do they manufacture 98 Mausers. To properly

I have a Vari-X III 2.5-8 with gloss finish and duplex reticle that I bought several years ago at a local sporting
goods store that is still NIB. It has set in my gun safe ever since I bought it and has never been used or even
mounted. Since I'm in my "golden" years with some health problems...
I have a std blue and walnut 77 MKII in .223 and I've shot 5.56 in it with no problems. Now I have only
fired it with M193 55 gr ammo and have never tried to chamber the 62 gr green tip. I think it has a 12"
twist barrel so I never thought about trying 62 gr. I prefer the 55 gr ammo anyway...
I have a MAC-90 with a milled receiver that is marked Made in China but has no Norinco marking. There is
faint remnants of another marking that has been scrubbed that looks like Polytech. The serial number has no
letter pre-fix.
