Fixed it!!!!! Took a punch and got the sear pin and hammer pin aligned which relieved the tension and the hammer finally fell forward. Thanks for everyones help!!

Thanks for the info Bullseye. I will try that tomorrow when I have a little more time. I looked a little closer and noticed the sear pivot pin and the hammer pivot pin have backed out of the left side a little. Could this be putting things in a bind? This thing is really frustrating me

I did take out the screws but the grip did not seperate. It acts like a one piece grip but you can see the seem where they should come apart.

First time taking my MKIII apart for thorough cleaning and couldn't figure out how to get the Altamont grips off. I'm sure there is something I am missing but I didn't want to force anything and break something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [/img]
