When I was 16 years old I saw one of these in a department store. I wanted it really bad, but my Dad said no….. Wound up with a sporterized 30-40 Krag instead. GLWS!

Called Ruger. They say they won’t sell latch assy to me unless I send the revolver back to them for the safety conversion. The person on the phone said the flattop latch assy is no different than the Blackhawk assy.

Not yet…. I’ll give it a try soon.

Welllllll……. I picked up the flat top today. I am embarrassed to say it is missing the base pin latch assembly. With no further explanation, I need an assembly appropriate to this model. Does anyone have a link to where I might find one? Otherwise, I am happy with the revolver and look forward...

Definitely shooter grade. I bought it at good price and to fill the void in my inventory. I may not shoot it unless it is loaded with 44 Spl. Due to the SA grip, I am limited to DA when it comes to 44 mag. I currently have a 5” 629 Classic which I can tolerate.

Yesterday, I picked up a 1959 44 Flattop at the local gun show. All original, SN 157xx. Has a 6 1/2 " barrel. In good condition with a little bluing wear on the cylinder. Purchased from the son of the original owner. $545, but I got to wait for the background check (10 days) to take...
