Just picked up an LCRx and took it apart for first cleaning... now I cannot get it functioning
I had no issues with disassembly/reassembly of my LCR 38 but for some reason I'm missing something with the X version
I can get it together but it locks up immediatly with either a trigger or hammer...
Ive been digging around looking at "under the radar" weapons for the coming wave of bans
"Do it all" sort of weapons that can be effectively pressed into various areas from range fun to hunting to self defense
I believe this little carbine in 357 Magnum would be a huge seller
Much of it could be off the shelf via the 77/357
A modern lightweight 16" stainless one pre milled for MRDS would make an excellent "do it all"
Looks like ill have to machine a mount then
Found a few "rails" but they would place the MRDS needlessly high
The two rear holes would be just the right place for a low mounted red dot
I just acquired a relatives Model 44 Carbine and noticed the 4 receiver screws look awful close to that of the 10/22
Does anyone happen to know if it is the same?
:?:
I was thinking an MRDS like a DeltaPoint or RMR would make this a lightening fast carbine
I didn't say a word about 'engineering wise'.
Even Ruger's own period literature stated it was its successor and an improved version
How is that relevant?
Clearly you've never had the two side by side
You seem to imply that that they share a common receiver, slide, bolt, etc, just modified...
I like the compact nature of a flush-fit 5 shot Deerfield and would be perfectly content with one.
Not going to get a 10 shot rotary, at least not a reliable one, nor do I think Ruger would take on the expense of such a massive redesign. On the other hand I could see a 3rd party taking on such...
Not sure I follow, manufactures already specify caliber/cartridge type, why wouldn't that apply?
Same for "certain loads"
I can think of any number of them from the original Deerfield that specified 240gr to a modern CMR30 that specifies 40gr. Most firearms have sweet spots in terms of ideal...
Sounds awesome doesn't it :D
Similar size and weight to the M1 Carbine (which I love BTW)
Just as handy but modernized for a rear mount MRDS
Better magazines
Spectacular ballistics
Better projectile selection
And great partner to a revolver
Considering how much folks are willing to pay for a used one in 44 Mag, a relativly unpopular cartridge.
I'm sure a modernized 357 Magnum (a much more popular caliber) would be multitudes more desirable and sell like crazy.
Especially for when the AWB comes.....and sadly it will.
There was a...
The Deerfield was optimized for 240gr, the calibers sweet spot IMO. I've never seen or heard of an accuracy issue but really light loads may result in not fully cycling the action, while really heavy loads may not fit the chamber. That said, the Deerfield was and is extremely popular among...
