I have a Ruger Blackhawk Bisley that has a rough cylinder bore but it seems to be pretty solid. Others have had the same issue with little or no cylinder problems.
I just purchased a new .45Blackhawh Bisley and when I got her home I noticed something that I wanted to share with the group. I noticed a small gap where the cylinder rides on the frame. I took it apart and it looks like the upper quarter of where the frame bushing interface is machined has too...
I have about 500 rounds thru my SR-9 and so far it has been flawless. The only thing I've noticed is that there is just very slight peening at the front of the barrel block. When I first got the pistol I wasn't happy with the trigger so I polished the trigger group using Josh's procedure. So far...
If remember right, FOID was supposed to make us "safer". This a good lesson for others (non-Illinois) to learn from. That lesson is that all this FOID BS has done nothing to reduce crime in the state of Illinois. Idiots like Daley keep jamming this stuff down our throats but all it has done is...
The friction in the trigger pull might be the result of the trigger bar rubbing against the right side of the frame. Josh, if you remember, I took a couple thousandths of plastic off the inside of the frame with 400 grit sandpaper. I did this only where the trigger bar seemed to rub.
I don't...
Rick,
My barrel on my SR-9 does not show the peening you have on your barrel. I do have the little divot on my slide. I have about 400 rds thru my SR-9 at this point in time. I guess I'll need to watch my barrel for any unnecessary wear / peening in the future.
Thanks Redlabel....That's exactly what I am seeing on my cheap brand X shotgun ( NEF). All my previous shotguns had different front bead mounting and never had the bead stud actually screwed into the barrel where I could see it on the inside of the barrel. There seems to be a very slight...
I'll try to post a picture when I get a hold of my daughter's camera. It's a cylinder bore barrel with no choke tubes or ventilated rib. The front bead site looks like it's silver soldered directly to the barrel. It's probably a non-issue but I have not noticed this on the barrel since it was...
I have a brand X shotgun with a typical bead type front site. I was shooting the other day and noticed that there was a little indentation inside the barrel where the bead site was soldered to the barrel. You can definately see the front site shaft when looking in the barrel. I'm thinking some...
John,
I have fired CB caps out of my Winchester 9422 and only thing I could hear was the sound of the hammer clicking on the receiver when I pulled the trigger. They are almost silent...great for critters in your back yard.
So what is the real issue? Bad metallurgy with the barrel or the slide. Does Ruger have another problem that needs fixing? I'm beginning to wonder...I have put about 400 rounds thru my SR9 and I can see slight peening on the barrel. I'm going to watch it to see if it gets worse. Other than a...
