I am totally cornfused with this thread. If a Wrangler grip frame does not meet one's requirements, rather than spending megabucks to modify the gun, why not simply buy a Single Six. And second, modifying a Heritage also seems counter intuitive.

There is a fallacy to that idea. Brass and bullets can and do vary in weight, although usually small. If you are loading something like a .38 wadcutter with a minimal powder charge, you may not catch the error.

The Ruger Mark III and IV were drilled and tapped for a Ruger base. I got the base with the gun, NIB. I have red dots mounted on both of them. If you didn't get one, they are available on Ruger.com. Several different styles.

I had that problem as well. But load them with 0.454's and they are tack drivers.

I don't usually buy more than one of any item. Having the same item in different colors also is of no interest. But, finding a matched set of consecutive serial numbers WAS of interest. Housed in a homemade walnut case made the purchase right. (my avatar)

You got the answers to your questions. Why complain? The "sidetracking" was because your "paint job" defies all common sense. If the replies convinced you to make the gun usable as a carry piece, then our job was successful. If not, then there is no more to say.
