    Security 9 accuracy

I have almost 800 rds thru my Security9 since I bought it last year. And, while I wouldn't call mine a 'shotgun', there have been a few times when it seems I'm less accurate with it than my other guns. I'm not really sure why though more than likely it's just me. Below is a pic with 2 targets...

    Security 9 at Front Sight

I've had a Security 9 for a year or so now and I also find it a good handgun. Fits good in the hand, I've never had any troubles with it, eats any ammo I feed it, and feels like it was made with Ruger quality. I also just received a Muddy River holster (saw their name mentioned elsewhere) I'm...

    Stainless Mini Thirty accuracy

I bought a new Mini 30 stainless/synthetic-stock a couple months ago. Put on an Ultimak rail and Vortex red dot. It's just for plinking fun at the moment so I'm not looking for 1-hole accuracy, and I consider myself a novice with rifles and optics anyway. Here are a couple pics from a recent...

    Ruger Gunsite Scout .223 Mags

I'd be curious about this as well. I've looked around from time to time but haven't ever found any.

    Ruger American 30-06

I've never had a Ruger American, in any caliber, but, when I asked a LGS employee what he thought of it, he said it was an entry level rifle. ie., he was not impressed. So, a couple weeks later I bought a Mossberg Patriot .308 (for whatever reason). Well, I had nothing but trouble with it. Every...

gunsight scout rifle optic W red dot

garth69, I am no expert, but, the Vortex Crossfire II red dot has a tall frame mount that would allow you to use the iron sights (ie., looking thru the red dot frame mount). I just recently put this red dot on a Mini-30 on a forward rail and it does work. Granted, the red dot optic will be...

    Ruger SR9 Discontinued?

Humpf. They're going with the RAP vs. the SR? Bummer. I tried the RAP at the range once and I was not impressed. I will never buy a RAP. I've had a 9E for a couple years now and it has turned into one of my favorites.

    Ruger Security 9

I've had mine for only 3 weeks and put about 200 rds through so far. Mostly Winchester white box 115gr., no problems there. Tried a few Sig Sauer V-Crown jhp 115gr and 147gr ... the 147gr. seemed to shoot a little better (tighter group) for me. Tried some Remington UMC 115gr ... ack! Multiple...

    Bought a 9E

The 9E is a good gun. For me it has always been reliable, consistent, etc. I took a chance on buying it last year, basically an unknown quantity, but I was quickly satisfied. Here's a pic of a target sheet the day after I bought the gun. Can't hardly complain.

    Ruger Security 9

Picked-up my Security9 yesterday and went to the range today, 140 rds total. Used mostly Winchester white box 9mm 115gr. with no issues. Also put 10 rds of Sig Sauer V-Crown 115gr jhp thru - no problems. 10 rds of Sig V-Crown 147gr. - no problems. And then I tried the Remington 115gr. ...

    Hawkeye Guide 30-06

There are 2 long screws going thru the rubber buttpad and spacers into the stock. The slim piece (yellow arrow) stays in place, the rubber pad of course stays, and then however many spacers (red arrows) you want go inbetween.

    Hawkeye Guide 30-06

I just bought a Guide in 30-06 two weeks ago, with the help/advice of forum members here. I've had it out 3 times now for some practice (I'm new to using rifles and scopes) and so far I really like it. And I love some of the descriptions of the gun you folks are using. I look forward to the day...

SR9E vs Security9 for first pistol?

Tough choice. I have the 9E and really like it, but definitely curious about the Security9. The 9E shoots soft and accurate. It is a bit tall though and that's why I'm curious about the S9 as it's a little shorter in the grip length. I have carried the 9E (IWB) a little bit but it's not my first...

Can't decide - Guide Gun, Hwkeye Predator, Hwkeye FTW Hunter

Tried out the new scope at an indoor 75yrd range. A sandbag under the forearm and my shoulder at the other end. There were 2 or 3 times when I really was surprised by a light trigger pull. But so far so good, just need practice practice practice at longer ranges to work with the scope. 6 in...

Can't decide - Guide Gun, Hwkeye Predator, Hwkeye FTW Hunter

The scope I'm trying there is a Bushnell Trophy 4-12x40 with their DOA 600 CF reticle.
