    Odd Blackhawk

With just the one cylinder and none of the rest of its original kit, I’d say $699 is pretty much all of the money. Bought one several years ago in about 98% condition with both cylinders, box and dox and even the outer box (sleeve) for about $1100 complete. if, on the other hand, you’re in...

    Ruger Time Capsule 1974

I’m a Philistine... I’d have to shoot it! My kid brother got the 45 Colt (only) version of the same gun, and I found an orphan 45 ACP cylinder. He made his own “combo” model. Shoots great! 🐸

    Small caliber Blackhawks

I somehow got stuck in the Bold Italics mode and don’t want to yell so here’s the rest of my post. If the bean counters could somehow be convinced to make a run of many shot 22 LR Blackhawks, it would be limited, and probably slow selling (and illegal in NY, NJ, Mass, and California!) so they...

    Small caliber Blackhawks

There has been so much commentary on the InterWeb about how heavy the Blackhawk (actually “Super Blackhawk frame size) 327 Fed Mag is for the caliber. Nothing but negatives unless you’re trying to buy one!! 😳 🐸

    Big iron owners check in

You said "big iron" not "big lead", so my Stainless Blackhawk 327 Fed Mag, built on the Super Blackhawk frame will qualify as big iron because it just has small holes through it! Of course if sheer power is your quest, full snort 327 Federal Mag loads are fire breathing and ground shaking! I...

Saw a NIB .32 Mag SS today

RedHawk41 nailed it! There’s the 327 FM Blackhawk then there’s everything less! I wouldn’t be surprised to find it’s also the heaviest Blackhawk since 32 cal holes take out so little steel! ;) 🐸

    What’s your bedroom gun?

This all reminds me of the young police officer who made a routine traffic stop on a sweet looking grandmother type and discovered her car contained a loaded shotgun, a 45 semi auto, a 38 Spl snub and maybe something else. When he asked her, “What are you afraid of, ma’am?” Her reply was...

    Ruger 327 Blackhawk

Haven't stopped by for a while, but had to catch up on this thread! Of all the models Ruger has ever produced, this seems to be their most stealthy ever. I was having a 327 FM built on a S&W Model 66 donor and saw them on GB on clearance... first I'd heard of them and I didn't even know they...

So, which is worth more? Buckeyes

I had, then stupidly sold, one of the very first 32 combos to hit town. When I finally replaced it a couple of decades later, I paid nearly three times as much for the one I now have. I don’t think I’ll ever afford the 38-40/10mm but I don’t plan to get rid of this 32 by sale or trade. 🐸

When Did the Ruger Blackhawk Become a $700 Revolver?

Thirty years ago I bought the first release of the Buckeye Special, the 32-20/32 H&R combofor something on the order of $300. I foolishly sold it a year or so later for a small profit. When I finally decided it would be wise to buy a replacement, I was “fortunate” enough to find an excellent...

    Ruger 327 Blackhawk

And just to complete contender’s listing, the 327 FM Blackhawks were mostly stainless eight shooters. I’ve seen mention of blued and “pinto” versions, but they are the rare ones… I’ve never even seen a picture of either one. BTW, when did we start calling a production model made only a decade...

    Clint Smith in action...

I had gotten pretty casual about taking advantage of my CWL until recently when it became obvious that even my relative bucolic suburban setting people are shooting each other at the slightest of provocations. The smallest things I have for true concealment are a couple of S&W revolvers, so...

.327 Federal brass - does it still exist? (and other questions).

GB 60, I fear you may be in for a wait on 327 brass from Starline. When Federal first released the 327 I bought Blackhawk 327 Eight Shooter and had a Model 66 S&W converted to 327. At that time I was able to buy a couple of boxes of factory ammo to shoot up and get some brass as well as...

The used Ruger shelf at Genesis Firearms in Virginia.

👍 Thanks! That’s near some good crabs too, IIRC.

Where is this “Genesis Firearms in Virginia”? I’m not that familiar with NoVA. 🐸
