    Aluminum cased ammo

    I've shot lots of it in .357 mag and 9mm in a Taurus PT99 and .45 in a PT945. My Glock 30 doesn't like it much. It tears up the case on extraction.

    I've shot lots of 9mm and .45 and the only problem has been my Glock 30 tears up the aluminum cases instead of ejecting them.

    CCI has come out with a new self-defense ammo in .22 called The Uppercut. 22Plinkster says it works best in a four-inch barrel. It's an interesting concept anyway.

    I saw that last night. I like the fact that he tested them using several different guns and barrel lengths. Gel penetration was 8-10 inches with a big shock cavity. The gel test with the 10/22 was pretty wild.

    I'm not sure it's supposed to eject them. It pushes the brass about halfway out and it's easy to flick it out with your finger. I've never had anyone look at it but it's not a big deal. It would be nice if it did.

    An Ithaca model 49 is a handy little rifle if you don't mind a single shot. There is also a 22 mag version.
