I have one in .416 Rigby. It's superbly accurate with 5744 and Montana Bullet Company cast bullets. I have another one in .375 H&H that is new in the box with even better wood. I'll post a photo of it later.

A quick question: On the Lyman Ruger No. 1 rifles (like the one shown below), did Lyman (or anyone else) ever offer a set of iron sights or aperture sights that could be attached instead of the scope?

I shoot a .416 Rigby in the Ruger RSM rifle. Montana Bullets cast 350 grain (RCBS mold) and 5744 work wonderfully well. These are 100-yard targets I shot using the rifle's iron sights:

I have a Mini 14 that does not do that. I have a Garand that does this in a very predictable manner. In the Garand, the first shot out of the clip is always low left (about 4 inches low left at 100 yards), the rest of the clip groups reliably into two inches. Never found the cause. I hold...
