My first 45/45acp stainless Birdshead had the same situation. A trip back to RUGER and it came back all good…. In fact better than new.

Ruger/Lipseys did do a limited run of SBHB in 480R & 454C w/ 6.5” barrels. I swapped the 6.5” barrel for a 5.5” Octagon and take the both hunting deer in deep woods. The #1 is really a 475L, but shoots 480R just fine, no issues. Both guns got the barrel swap. 480R top 454C bottom

Interesting fact about HIGH STANDARD 22 short. The frame WILL eventually crack. BUT ANYTHING other than Standard Velocity,,, really won’t feed or operate either. I went thru the similar situation, once I feed it with CCI STANDARD VELOCITY, it operates perfectly. Bought 15K and I’m set for...

YES,,, the 8168’s have been shipped to customers, very limited #’s. IIRC, Bobby Tyler/Tyler Gun Works had “some sort” of an exclusive on them. They sold in the $800 range. There was an announcement over on the Single Action Forum, they all got snapped up quick.

This is a Brass Power Custom Gripframe that was going to get cut on the “RED” Birdshead line. These brass frames are no longer in production, in fact this was the last one shipped out by PC. Frame is in unmolested condition & available, should you have interest. $275 shipped.
